There are about a dozen here, one of them is a hundred years old, but they are pretty much all renovated, the really tacky ones had to close down because of all the competition. There are three that cater mainly for bisexual-type guys including one where even women are permitted. Some of them are for older, some for younger, some for smokers, some for poppers, some really first class new spotless, others a bit more hardcore dingy/funky whatever. Some of them have lounges and internet et cetera mainly people go there for sex and relaxation or sunbathing in summer. Sometimes the sex is quick but you can find people into kissing and hugging and chatting and lots of gentle touching or else sometimes just the saunas or whirpools or steamrooms or movies or pools or gym or party atmosphere could keep you there for a few hours. Sometimes people like to play the stupid video lottery machines or play snooker whatever or even just watch regular TV. They are all different so check Spartacus for details. But some of them only really get busy after 3am after the bars close (have never understood why they have to close).

Quebec city also has three nice ones but kinda quiet. Halifax has a nice but tiny one. Ottawa has two prety good ones. Toronto has about five and most of the larger cities in Quebec and Ontario have at least one each. Last time I heard there were still four in Johannesburg, two in Cape Town and one in Pretoria. Haven't been to any anywhere else.

Of course if you have major issues these places are not for you but if just a bit timid then it can be a nice way of losing inhibitions.

I've been in a few all-male saunas...mostly overseas in places like Sydney, Prague, and Athens. I've never hooked up in one...but its interesting to watch the dynamics, interaction, and eye candy (if there is any). All the advice given earlier is good. Remember, you don't have to do anything you don't want to. You can keep your towel on the whole time if the mood strikes you. I have gone with a sense of curiosity and adventure (it beats sitting in a hotel room watching BBC World News), though I don't really have a yearning to go anymore.

I have been to a couple, which turned out to have gay sections. I now go to saunas that are mixed.

i have never been to one. i'm curious but when i saw a vid of a spycam in one bathhouse, i got turned off. It's full of potbellied old men.(no offense, just not into them) Only a few attractive ones.

I frequented one in east London, in my time of discovery for about a year.

It was great, met some great people that are still my friends now. Had some of my 1st man on man experiences, it was awesome.

"Back in the day"...I was too scared to go to the baths. Now they don't exist anymore where I am. I do find myself at a lot of spa's...I've found them to have wonderful amenities, some great eye-candy and, yes, dare I say...so great fun! We've got two casino's here in CT. They both have nice spa's. I prefer one over the other (if your are curious you can private message me and I'll tell ya...lol). I also have had a great time at a spa outside of Las Vegas at a great resort in Henderson. Very high end, with incredible amenities and lots of men - gay, bi, and str8 - who love to spend the morning, afternoon, evening, or all day naked!

The hardest thing to get used to is people watching you and you watching others have sex (mostly oral), it's kinda weird to just watch, but people going there and engaging in sex know they will be watched. If your into more privacy rent a room, they're a few dollars more than just the regular locker fee. As stated before, be safe: wear flip flops, and pay for an extra towel to sit on. When your ready to shower, you don't want to wipe your body dry with the same towel that your ass and the benches with everyone elses ass and spunk all over them.

I was looking at the Bathhouse Addict link....Good information but the all those pics of hot men? Forget about it! lol

I've been to a number of bathhouses and had plenty of fun with some hot guys in them, but it honestly there's usually mostly trolls creeping around. Most times I go and after hanging around for an hour hoping something nice might come along, I go home irritated that I paid $10 - $25 for nothing.

There can be fun to be had, though. You just have to hit it at the right time. It's the luck of the draw.
