You libs are hilarious. More and more, I think you actually never really talk to people face to face, you just text and IM and email and hide yourselves at Starbucks, but never really talk to live human beings.
Birth control is a total smoke screen, pandering to the liberal secularists who are owed favors. Ask any teenager how to prevent pregnancy and they know how to do it. They just don't use it. Their lives are not organized enough to think b/4 fucking. I employ about 15 women and I have as we speak 6 women with fatherless children. (They had sperm donors). I asked point blank did you know about birth control? The answer was 100% yes. They just did not use it. Did they have access to it? Yes. I know you can buy 3 condoms for $2. I see 10-15 people on Medicaid every day. They all have expensive cell phones, Ipods, Iphones, portable playstations you name it. And we are talking the children not the moms. The kids have these toys. Money ain't the issue, personal responsibility is.
The only sure fire way to insure these idiots don't reproduce is to sterilize them.

I think it's pretty clear that poor people delivering healthy babies does save money to the state over poor people delivering sickly, malnourished babies. It's just easier for you to oversimplify her position into an easy strawman. Quote:

Well, if you want to be illiberal about it, statistically, if aimed at the right market segment, it could help the economy a few years down the road, but I'll leave it at that before I get myself banned

Wyldgusechaz, keep talking smack like that and the social conservatives in your party - the ones who hijacked the republican platform - are going to forcibly. bodily kick you out of that "Big Tent" you guys brag about - and slap you into conformity.
Birth control is not part of "God's Plan". Forced sterilization will interfer with God's dictum of going forth, being fruitful and "multiplying". You're treading on very thin ice, mister! James Dobson from "Focus on the Family" and Tony Perkins from "Family Research Council" are going to have to pay you a little visit. They have ways of dealing with atheists, feminists, gays and dissidents. | | |

For the past eight years, the executive branch has blocked access to not only contraception, but other reproductive services, by people with demonstrated financial need. Individual states have had to pick up the tab for these services, and appropriating federal money for reproductive choice returns that money to state and local jurisdictions for other uses: so yes, including reproductive health funding in the stimulus package does help the economy, and yes, this inclusion was made possible by the change in party control.

Hand out the birth control. In supermarkets, in schools, in airports. Throw condoms around like confetti. I don't want to see this country become like China (which now has almost 1.4 billion residents). Large populations = Less Social and Political Freedoms |
That's the most ridiculous logic I've ever heard.
I'd argue "More liberals= More thought disorders".
This country needs MORE people. Of course if you feel the opposite, then why not off yourself? That'd be like killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

I'm thinking there a few hundred better ways to do it... stimulus that is..... errr economic stimulus that is. That was my point, but I had a feeling this thread would digress into birth control, and a myriad of ways to make it an attack on the right.

If there's one place I can find common ground with many Republicans, it's that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are two lousy party leaders. Then again I'm not a Democrat either, but they definitely do a disservice to like-minded individuals.

That's the nice thing about democracy: we get to vote our conscience and not have to march in lockstep to whatever bi_in_socal determines is the function of government. And the majority of voters selected candidates who favored reproductive choice and who opposed torture.

I don't want government influence involved with the reproductive health of the individual. | The government isn't shoving condoms and birth control pills down everyone's throat. They're just making these things much easier to access so that people can be more responsible for their actions.
You go to gay bars and small care packages of condoms & lube with literature about safe sex are readily available, and FREE. Maybe if these things were available in strategic areas of everyday society it could prevent a lot of unwanted pregnancies, cut down on abortions (now THERE'S another word that makes your skin crawl, you conservi-tard), and also cut down on STD transmissions. Plus, it costs the government a lot less to make this stuff available than it would to continue putting money into Welfare to take care of people who are essentially stuck in the system with several unplanned children.
Seriously, nobody is saying you have to do it. There isn't and won't be a law stating that you have to use government-approved condoms. You can bareback all you want and hope that the Almighty God cues you in whenever it's time to pull out (and we SO HOPE he does). But I'm actually for this move. Welcome to the 21st Century.
