Offers of money for sex? Is this common?

I have been offered money in exchange for my body (in one way or another) on many occasions, whether it be in person or over the internet. Sometimes it has been quite large sums of money on offer, have any of you experienced this? Should I be surprised by this or am I just being naive? It is flattering but at the same time puzzles me. I haven't accepted any of these offers but can't help but wonder, what if I did accept?

All responses are greatly appreciated!

Largest sum I was offered was $500 to go as a guy's "date" to some sort of function at a Bengals game. If I were out, I would've done it in a heartbeat. Just had to dress up and show off my smile. Oh well...

Also been offered smaller amounts (20, 50, etc) if I were to receive bjs or something, but never gave them a second thought. Not worth it by a long shot. Never been offered by women, though.

I don't know what to tell you. A long time ago I was traveling and someone chatted me up in a bar and I took them back to my hotel room. In the morning after he left I found a rather large sum of money in the bathroom. I was shocked, disgusted and somewhat awed at the same time.
I gave the money to charity because in the end I did not find it flattering.

Interesting! I'm not sure how I would react in that situation! The fact that they are willing to pay is flattering to me but the fact that they think I would accept the money is a little insulting. It was lovely of you to give the money to charity!

I couldn't bring myself to accept the money, I haven't so far and don't think I ever really would. I have been offered everything from £25 to thousands of pounds. Both men and women have offered me money in the past but mostly men. These are mostly attractive people as well. I find it confusing that they would pay, when potentially I would accept for free.

I'd say in this day and age, with EZ access and sorting of potential sexual partners via the internet, the question of a few bucks changing hands has become a different one.

Once, if you wanted to get paid, you really had to put yourself out there. Today, it's kinda different. Guys get offers they're not looking for. It's something like the woman who demands a fancy dinner, flowers and maybe a bit of jewelry if she's gonna put out. Somehow I see that as different. Maybe . . . maybe not.

Could be. However in the OP, he doesn't specifically say that sex is on the cards...just that he's been offered money for his body.
This could also mean that he's wanted as a +1 to an event, in which case, it's not necessarily prostitution as it doesn't involve sexual intercourse for remuneration.
I guess he could, more specifically anyway, be referred to as an escort.
(But i might also be coming off as naive now.)

I think some people get off on paying for it? I think I read once that that's a fetish some people have but I don't have time to research it right now. If that's true, then I wouldn't take it personally or be insulted.

I think you may be right but times have changed and I am not 'street-walking' or anything to find these offers haha.

I agree! I think that the internet has made a big difference.

Thanks for the response. Just to clarify, the money has been offered in exchange for blowjobs, flashing myself, talking dirty, full intercourse and everything inbetween. I have been taken on a few dates as an 'escort' but didn't realise it until much later.

Never been offered money before, I myself have given money to women after a one nighter when hooking up at a club. Only a small amount for their taxi home, just to make sure they have decent safe transport arranged.

Oh I've had girls ie 16 year olds offer BJ for alcohol as well, of course ive always declined.

Yeah this has happened before. A while back this older guy saw my profile on Adam4Adam and became compoletely obesessed with me. He was always sending me messages and would not take no for an answer after I had repeatedly told him I was not interested. Then he started offering me cash. He offerd me $100, then $200, then $500.

Then there was this other older guy who is extremely wealthy who basilcly offered to take care of me if I woudl be "his boy". I was not into him either.

The most interesting time this happend was when I had just gotten out of college and went to an employment agency looking for a job. The lady said "I have the perfect job for you, we have a business executive who is looking for a personal assistant."

So she arranged the interview and on the appointed day I dressed in a nice suit and drove out to this guy's several thousand acre estate. I pulled up to the mansion this older man in his 70s welcomed me in and we went to his office and talked. He was looking for a "live in" personal assistant who would stay in the guesthouse of his estate during the summers and at his Penthouse in NYC when he was in the city, and handle all of his travel arragements and travel the world with him on business trips. It seemed like a great opportunity but I quickly concluded that he was looking for more by what happened next.

After the interview was finished he told me that since it was a nice day he was going for a swim in the pool and invited me to join him. I politely thanked him and told him I didn't have any swimwear with me. He said that was no problem that he kept swimwear on hand for guests in his pool house. So I said ok. He took me to the pool house (that was bigger than many suberban homes) and showed me where the swimwear and towels were and and I found several new speedos in sizes small, medium and large, so I picked out a blue square cut in my sized an changed into it and joined him in the pool. He did not touch me or make any kind of moves on me but I could tell that he was checking me out. We talked a little more about his business and where he traveled, etc. Afterwards I went back to to the pool house, showered, and changed back into my suit.

I thanked him for the interview while thinking this whole thing was kind of weird. The next day the lady from the employment agency called and said that this gentlemen really liked me and was very interested in hiring me for the job. I had been thinking the whole thing was kind of strange so I told her i didn't really think I was interested in the job. She said "well I hope you will re-consider because this is a great opportunity."

I am pretty sure the what he was looking for "personal assistance" with was in his pants.
