| | What makes a good nickname?
my nickname sucks. i wasn't really giving it a thought the time i registered here on LPSG, just took some letters of cities/places i've visited (and liked) and added two random numbers to the whole thing.
now, i can say the number thing was quite stupid, because if i would read this in somebody's nick, i would think he is either 59 years old or he was born in 1959 or in general he wants to say something with it (but what???)
so i'm considering to change my nickname, but first i have to come up with something cool.
...so my questions:
What do you think, what makes a good nickname?
Should it have a meaning, a reference to something? Should it be only cool sounding? Should it imply something nasty?
and how did you come up with your nickname? is there a fun story behind it?
thoughts are welcome | |

you could put 2 words together that don't really belong. there was a band that did that named relentless cookout.

Your screenname should, IMO, either be funny/clever (at_your_cervix is arguably the greatest example of this there), personally meaningful on some level (mine comes from the only nickname anyone's ever given me, as my real first name is one syllable and not given to an -ie or -y suffix), though the double "B" is code for those who know.
Otherwise make it random, but don't include numerals for the reasons stated in the OP |

I love my nickname because it reflects my heritage, my name, my femininity and my ability to kick ass (think Lafemme Nikita!). Beside Slut4BigCoks was taken (and that is a joke!).
Make a nick that is unique to you and says something about who you are.

Best advice I can give you: make sure it's easy to remember when logging in. I know that sounds "well, duh" but I look at some of the names on the members list that are just random jumbles of letters and/or numbers and think, "How the hell are they going to remember that?"
My own story: I was born in 1978 (hence the 78), my middle name is William but I think it's such a daggy (dorky) name so I changed it. But I cannot for the life of me think why I picked willow - considering what this site is about, willy would have made more sense. Perhaps it's my sense of irony - willows are tall, slender and flexible whereas I'm short, fat and stubborn.
