Boxers Or Briefs? Try iPod Underwear

WBAL-TV

1:58 p.m. EST March 28, 2006

WASHINGTON - If you're constantly on the move, and you want to keep your portable music player close, try your underwear. At least, that's what some believe will become a new trend in underwear for men.
WBAL-TV's sister station in Washington, D.C., WRC-TV, reported shorts called Underoos for adults have sold well at a men's clothing fashion store in Washington called Universal Gear.
"People are really looking for new things in men's underwear, looking for something a little more exciting," said Chord Bezerra, a buyer for Universal Gear retail stores. "They're looking for a little more color or something with a print."
Bezerra added, "Add a little bit of fabric, cut in a little pouch, and put your iPod right (inside). ... It just adds a little utilitarian aspect to men's underwear."
He explained that the polyester mesh briefs are designed for those who work out.
"When you're working out, it wicks away the moisture from the body, keeping you dry and comfortable," Bezerra said.
The price ranges from $10 to $27.50 for the underwear, and the iBoxer, which comes in three colors, retails at $22.

Hiatus is a good thing.

LOL that would be one sight, you pop a boner to the side and out comes an ipod from your pants.........i think its a good idea, i mean when going to the gym with shorts with no pockets ive always thought about sticking my pod on the inside of my underwear, but that would mean so much moisture, so i havent, but this is a great idea and perhaps i should get em....

I'd be afraid of the moisture "wicking" away would do some sort of damage to my iPod, but if we got boners, we'd be changing tunes and changing the volume and turning it off--things that normal sized guys wouldn't have to worry about.

I saw the ones Lex posted about a month ago, and I just had to laugh. This is just funny. The subtitle for this thread should be "When pop culture goes too far"

This is by far the best marketting gimick I've ever seen:
Buy two pair and get 3 free iTunes downloads

I just got my iPod 2 days ago. I love it. Like BlackCock85, I wear a lot of pocket-less shorts (and around the house, mostly no shorts).

Here's my solution: I'm going to sew together a pouch just like the fake leather one that came with the iPod, but add enough material at the top for a grommet and hang it from a lanyard. There's not a decent tech store around here and I'm not paying shipping for something that should fit in a standard letter envelope.

Those underwear are shitty and I am sure drones of iPod sheep will buy them.

My Sony NetWork Walkman came with a clip than lets me wear it with anything.
It is 1 gig and costs $150.

The 30GB iPod is too heavy for a useable clip. It would stretch out shirt necks and pull down shorts.

BTW - I didn't pay a dime for my iPod - not even shipping. I wouldn't consider spending that kind of money on a proprietary device. If I had to buy one, I would probably go with one of the brand-name open devices like Sony or Creative.

I keep wondering how they convinced people:

(a) you need 30 Gigs of music on your person at all times

and

(b) an MP3 palyer should cost more than $180.

It's JUST a hardrive. You can get a 160 Gig HD for under $100.

a) I don't need 30GB of music. I only own 9 GB myself. My mood changes regularly and I like my music to keep up. I also like it to be high-quality high-bitrate audio, not crappy 96 or 128 bitrate MP3. 256+ for me. That's not normal for most people. I also use near-studio-quality noise-cancellation headphones, not the crappy ear buds.

b) I agree.

BTW - It's a hard drive with a headphone jack and a play button.

I didn't spend a dime on mine, either. I got it as a gift.

haha, well its funny because i have 33GB of music on my laptop and about 22GB on my ipod, i think its not that i need 30GB of music at all times, but it's the option that if i feel like listening to a certain cd or artist i can and have a wide variety, and its nice to be able to put videos on there like i have. My likes my little black ipod.
