The Rush Limbaugh "Slut" incident, and its unfolding aftermath have drawn recent headlines. But it's merely one incident in a literal tide of anti-women manoeuvers attempted by Republican officials all across the USA.

Not one Republican politician has effectively disclaimed Limbaugh's behavior. And Republican officials all over the country keep introducing bills that are blatantly hostile to women's rights. I am watching, mouth agape, as the Republican Party is literally giving the finger to the women of the USA. It's mind-boggling to even attempt to ascertain what these politicians are thinking, given that the electorate is 52% female. New York State Assemblywoman, Teresa Sayward, a Republican was on television last night saying she'd vote for Obama over any of the Republican candidates. Her reasoning? That the Republican candidates "would take women back decades."

And now, Women are fighting back. Proposed "Viagra" legislation is being introduced in a multitude of jurisdictions.

The same party that wants to slash welfare to the bone wants to cut Title 10 and deny contraception to women in poverty so they can further berate them for "having all these babies" (just as they already do).

This war on women is reprehensible. It's absurd. It's pathetic.

Put yourself in their heads. They are products of a different age, where minorities and women were properly kept in their place so the superior, God-fearing white men could share power. The world was so much better back then for people like them.

It should hardly be a surprise they haven't changed their minds. They are dinosaurs. They'll go extinct eventually.

I think I'll duck back under my covers for a bit. Seriously, the only thing I've been able to buy into to fix the political fuck up we call a democracy is to fix our electoral system. I mean, come on, it sucks more than nasty white men's hangin' balls.

I enjoyed this article on proportional representation (PR), but knowing the way our system works, I can't see PR ever making it here. Sigh. I'm a pessimist when it comes to any type of politics.

Rush has been married 3 times, I think. No kids. Either he never fucked his wives or he is reaching for a new level of bullshit with this birth control crap. Rush being racist or sexist or homophobic isn't news, but I don't even think he knows how birthcontrol works. He seems to think a woman has to take a pill ever time she has sex. It's a daily medication. One pill, every day, sex or no sex.

Here is an idea. For those of the female gender, if your man agrees with the anti-birthcontrol/life begins at erection/abortion should be illegal/only reason to have sex is to procreate..... then by all means, give him what he seems to want. No sex at all untill you are married and ready for 16 kids..... see how long this arguement continues.
