I'm not surprised. When my wife and I were in university together, she was shocked to discover that the men's locker room had open showers because the women's had private stalls. The Y I use today also has an open shower as well as a steam room and a hot tub that everyone uses naked in the men's locker room. My wife told me that she could never use those types of facilities. I think this has always been the case for women. I remember the women I work with talking about this very subject a few years ago. They absolutely couldn't believe that men are naked around each other in the men's locker room. What I don't like is that this mentality has been transferred onto the younger generation of males by too many female influences rather than male influences.

The fuck you live? Bizarro world? My gym, which is huge, has open showers for both men and women, and the women are apparently far more open about it than the men (probably because a lot of gay dudes were using it as a place to pick up other men).

You know what keeps me out of the locker room showers? Athlete's foot and the naked creepers who seem to be there just to ogle my ding dong.

But yeah, you could blame "female influences" I guess.

I have never had a problem getting dressed/undressed in an open locker room before. I've only had one woman comment on my body, and it was an older woman who saw me take of my sports bra and said "oh you poor dear." I noticed she was "top heavy" too, as my grandmother used to say. So I knew what she meant.

Now I live very close to the gym so I get dressed before I go and shower when I return home. I think I'd be a little self-conscious right now with the scars as they are. But I know I'll get over with it. I've never had a bad body self-image.

Maybe I'm not your average woman but I'm not comfortable seeing other women naked nor am I comfortable being naked around others. I'd rather see a naked guy and be seen naked by a guy than either of those with a woman.

I am not Shy by any means if I need to get dressed and someone is there, Whether it be female or male I am getting dressed or undressed. I see it this way that if it is a chic sitting in the room or in a locker room we all have the same parts they come in all sizes, It doesn't bother me. If they wanna look go ahead.. If it is a guy then oh well he is gonna see me change. I am not by any means a 10 and I am I don't think I am all that but I am comfortable with myself enough that I will change in front of someone and I don't do it discreetly either.

In my Gym we have open showers, not shower stalls and open, "normal" locker rooms. It's usually not crowded in there, but women shower there, get changed, some even blow dry their hair naked or just with a towel on.

I noticed that this "study" said that they only talked to a handful of women. I don't think a handful can represent all women in the world!

This is a very healthy mindset. Very European; not so much American. I feel the same as you do and found it refreshing in Germany that people change in front of each other and use co-ed saunas and steam rooms naked without blinking an eye. You get used to it and it's never a big deal again.
