For those of you with LTR's, spouses, or live-in lovers, what kinds of things do you do to enhance the vibe when it comes to sex? Favorite foods? Aromas? Colors? Special ways you spruce up your bedroom?

OK, admittedly hubbie is not what you would call one requiring ambience to get in the mood, unlike yours truly. So when I got out of the shower and walked into the bedroom with a towel on my head and my short robe on I was shocked. There were about 30 candles lighting the bedroom, Barry White playing in the background (his favorite), filled champagne glasses and a freshly washed and shaved husband barely under the covers (apparently used the guest bathroom).

I don't know how he did it because it wasn't a luxurious soak for me so he had to act very fast. I'm sure he had most of it staged, but if the environment wasn't mood-setting just knowing he did all of this for me (and him, not kidding myself) turned me on!

I love ambience like a bed and breakfast on Saturday morning. Love all morning, walking that afternoon, dinner in a small private place and retiring to chambers to continue where we left off that morning.

OK, gotta calm down.

Depends if I'm creating the ambiance for myself as part of night in of pampering and getting intimately reacquainted with myself.

Or..

I'm creating a sexual ambiance for a partner.

It's all part of the seduction of the other person if that's the case and to be effective it pays to take notice and know the things they like be it music, food, wine, scent, their taste in lingerie,etc. and plan accordingly.

I take her shopping, get interested in what she buys offer my thoughts-I am genuinely interested. Not watch MNF and ask for $#!***. Make reservations at a unique restaurant, grab a motel, and cruise some bars for light drinks, go back to motel for some fireworks. Basically I do something she enjoys not necessarily something we or I enjoy. The I enjoy will follow the above. Lol.

Any jams that get you going?

I used to have a lot of ..umm...bolster cushions on the bed and one night I lit some candles to create "mood".
Things were getting very physical and then the room started to fill up with smoke and we realized that during the frenzy one of the cushions had been pushed over to the bedside table, knocked over the candle holder and caught on fire.

It was a huge passion killer but at least we saw the funny side of it while airing out the room, shutting off the smoke detector and dousing the cushion in the bath tub.

Music. Certain songs put me in the mood very quickly and then after having sex to those songs over and over again, the effect is intensified. One of our songs played at a wedding reception we attended, and even though we weren't involved in the same conversation or near each other, when the song began we both swung our heads towards each other and locked eyes.

Very Pavlovian.
