are there any tradies that are either str8 curious, bi or gay out there?
this occupation is usually regarded as the most masculine and not really synonymous to the latter.
has the times changed?

mmm no offence OP, and all respect to you as an Aussie
but
i thought it was referring to Tradesmen
electricians. carpenters plumbers etc
why nzsomebody mentioned tradie capital of NZ at the moment is ChristChurch, because of the earthquake
mind you
with our rivalry, geuss you Aussies have upgraded your Tradies to blue collar gentlemen in this age .. dont think the legit tradies would take kindly to that tho..? ha http://www.stensrude.com/Oz.html
thought i better google check, dont want to put people crook ..

i dont know why anyone would take offence to it. its a legitimate occupation, occupations that are required in every society.

Got Ya Matey
aware of the blue uniform type clothing (your rail workers also huh?)
and the Van Heusen ( ie white collar)
Blue collar work clothing never been a major over here, and i have never really needed to distinguish between white & blue collar
dont think many Kiwis do
its sort of 'Collar & Tie' as compared to 'Tradesmen' workers over here
Little variations .. between our countries, as usual.
