Man City Premier League Winners 2012

This thread is likely to be mainly understood by people of the UK.

Personally I support Leeds United, but that was one hell of an ending to the league! Well deserved. Shame it was another team from Manchester to win it, and a shame they won it on a bought team instead of a built one but either way it was brilliant to see Man United toppled finally.

Also, Man United fans are making me laugh at the moment. Footy fans take things so seriously.

Any thoughts?

Liverpool fan here. Delighted of course and a big fan of Vinny Kompany, great player, great captain and a great advert for the pro game. Also delighted that Wigan stay up and as a Welshie, very pleased for Mark Hughes. Good day for me, other than that we lost of course. We expect that though at the moment.

As my Grandfather used to say, "If you are going to have a woman, why not have a beautiful one who wants to fuck you."

Cheers Mitch, can't ask for a better compliment than that!

I go to Uni in Newcastle, can say their day wasn't the best lol.

Craziest shit I've ever seen in soccer. Even crazier than Chelsea beating Barcelona in the Champions League semis with such a depleted squad.

But I'm a soccer n00b, so what do I know.

Best soccer match I've seen since Liverpool champions league win over AC Milan. Man City are deserving champions.

joll - Joey Barton is and always will be a complete bellend. I used to like Battytelli but I'm not so sure anymore. Can be a knob sometimes but then you hear about him paying for everyone's hotel rooms, petrol and all that - although instead of kindness that might just be to show off. Can't believe he is my age.

Stringer - That Chelsea game was unreal. I was kind of backing Barca because I love the team but can't argue with the results.

As for the game yes, best ending and reminded me a lot of this:

Man United Treble Bayern Munich Highlights 1999

I supported Man U back in like 1999, not sure why! But anyway Bayern Munich deserved to win that game, but cannot argue with 2 goals in injury time. I'll never forget that game! The game yesterday was so similar, it's just not quite as epic because it was QPR and the Man U game was the Champions League Final.

Anyway those highlights are awesome!

I'm not a particular fan of Man City, but I have to say I was delighted to see United (and Ferguson) lose out in this way (at the risk of sounding ungracious), and the fact that it was the other Manchester team that did it just makes it that little bit sweeter.

Agree too: the reaction from some Man U fans (but not all) has been pretty fucked up – it is, after all, only a game.

I liked a similar one where Man U were behind in the Champions League final (about 2002?) and scored at least two after 90 mins. :D I love a victory snatched from the jaws of defeat. Another cool one was Lpool v Alavez in the Champs League semis (I think) in 2001.

On a similar note - seeing games like that has taught me never to give up (whatever it is you're aiming for). Things can look bad, but you can still pull it off. ;)
