Working to gain weight

I'm pretty short and small boned, so even though I weight 130, my BMI is 21 with 6-7% body fat. Decided to get serious about rugby again, so I'm looking to get back to around

is part of a discussion in the Underwear, Clothing, and Appearance Issues forum that includes topics on What to wear (to show or not to show), what's comfortable, what's not....

Working to gain weight

I'm pretty short and small boned, so even though I weight 130, my BMI is 21 with 6-7% body fat. Decided to get serious about rugby again, so I'm looking to get back to around 150 - where I was in my college rugby days.

Anyone got suggestions for some good calorie dense, healthy meals?

I thought you were going to ask about lifting weights
I was unprepared to answer a question about eating
um, basically if you eat more you'll be getting more calories
so eat food that's good for you and eat a bit more of it then you want, you'll get bigger
oh also workout

Just started with a trainer this month...I'm 6'1'' started at 120 pounds. I gained 10 pounds this month alone. You've got to eat 5 - 6 meals a day. Some of the stuff in my diet includes: steak, chicken, fish, potatoes, fruit, peanut butter, nuts, milkshakes, cottage cheese, milk.

Yeah, I was looking more for meal suggestions. Maybe not so much as recipes, but individual healthy high calorie meals that people have tried. Last time I put on tons of weight, I was eating lots of steak and a lot of very high cholesterol foods. I'm looking to gain healthy weight.

eat 'diet' food but eat a lot of it
chicken and fish (no Japanese Tuna!)
vegetables are good but they are really (most often) low in calories but still overall good for you
oatmeal might be good to I dont' recall

lean meats

protein and good carbs

eat about 6 meals a day and try to gain about 1-3 pounds a week

counting calories helps

and get a decent protein powder (don't go to gnc and buy one of those ridiculous "SUPER DUPER MASS 9000 XXX" tubs, biggest waste of money ever... seriously look on the label, yeah it says like "80 grams of protein per serving" but the only difference between that and regular whey protein is they tell you to use 3 scoops instead of 1, biggest rip off ever)

lift weights with more sets and less reps while trying to lift more weight, lift to failure (do each exercise with like 8 sets, and no more than 6 reps each)

eat eat eat
