| | Need advice for my hairy shoulders/back
Hey everyone. I'm looking for advice on what to do for my shoulders. I have a few patches of hair on my shoulders and some hair growing on my back. I have shaved it off in the past with a cheap razor but it usually comes back stubbly and the skin around that area is irritated.
I'm planning on going to the beach with a big group of friends and was wondering if anyone had some advice as what to do about it. Should I shave it again, wax it at a special place, or any other ideas? Thanks!

I gave up on it. When I turned 30 I noted a few dark hairs appearing on my shoulders. Now at 42 I have a coat of light hair all the way down my back. I tried shaving, but I decided I really need eyes on th eback of my head and another set of arms to do it properly. Asking a friend to do it just sounds wrong.... "Will you be my friend, and shave my back?" I tried depilatory creams. That burned the shit out of me and I ended up with cracked, blistered skin, still covered with hair. I tried waxing - OH HELL NO - the pain wasn't the issue. It fades after a few minutes. The cream she put on afterwards made my back numb for about 3 days. A week later I discovered I had folliculitis (infected hair follicles) all over my back. It took 4 months of antibiotics and creams before it cleared up.
Hopefully you have better luck, but I'm just going to let it grow.

Sarcasm is lost on so many people...
A US standard 12 oz beer can (Miller, Bud, NOT Coors) is 4.75 inches tall, 2.375 inches wide, and approximately 8 inches in circumference. That means that your "beer can" cock is nearly 20% shorter than average, and too fat to actually use. In doubt ? Take a picture for comparison, or insert a can into your orifice of choice and see how it fits. |

If it bothers you that much & you have the cash, laser or pulsed light therapy. Not a quick fix, though.

I use my electric razor-usually once a week. A hand mirror is a must for doing a good job on the back of my neck at the hairline-big bathroom mirror works good for the rest. I'm lucky to be flexible enough & have long arms to do this all by myself. Usually doesn't start growing back irritated-I try to hit it on a Friday so I look cleaner for the weekend-esp summer for beach/boat/shirt off time. Coupled with trimming the rest of my body hair, it's a nicer, cleaner, younger look. To me, a hairy back= "old man"-& I'm fighting to not get put in that category...lol. Hope this helps!
