What other language would you like to speak?

What language would you like to be fluent in, speak, converse, read, and write? Why that one particular language?

I've learned Lao because I live here in Laos.
Years ago, I learned some Spanish when I lived in S. Calif.

I'd say either German or Spanish (or ideally both). I can speak enough of each to get by when I go there, but I'd like to be fluent.

I've thought about picking up a third language, and I'm kind of split between Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. I think I'd get a lot more practice if I took up Spanish, but Chinese is more interesting to me. I'm not really fond of the way it sounds, but I've always been a fan of the writing system.

But they could be speaking Cantonese or another dialect! I speak only three types of Chinese - Mandarin and two other dialects, but I swear in four types of Chinese.

I think I would like to learn Spanish or Italian. I learned a smattering of both and I often get them mixed up!

I've studied a ton and speak quite a few (ranging from Romance to East Asian) and use them professionally. I think it is the challenge that turns me onto a language the most. I about 12 years learning to read/write Japanese proficiently and it was sometimes frustrating but a fun challenge. I'd like to take on a pronunciation challenge at some point next and I think I have my eyes on Danish, probably one of the most difficult languages out there to learn to pronounce well enough to sound native in. Anybody here try that one yet?

I'm always open to receiving friendly hellos from anybody, but know that I try to limit my friends list to people I'm in regular contact with.

Mandarin/Chinese because, well, China is a big deal...

Spanish, because it's used all over the USA. My 2.5 years of Spanish classes didn't stay put in my brain. :(

Korean, because it would be kind of nice to be able to talk to/form a relationship with my biological siblings who I only found out about when I was 17.

I took 2 years of French while in school and I never really paid any attention to what I was learning. I wish now I had paid attention so I could have at least remembered what was being taught to me, but I also want to visit France and I would like to be fluent enough to understand people and be able to speak it clearly.

And I'll become what you became to me.

Right now, I'd like to learn and be fluent in Spanisn. I have some basic Spanish that comes from growing up in an area that has a large number of Hispanics. However, aside from basics, and swearing, not much. I'd love to be fluent, because that would open up a lot of opportunities for me.

Ideally, I'd like to be fluent in multiple languages. Spanish, French, German, Russian, to name a few. I just think that would be cool.

I'm out of my mind, please leave me a message....
