Ya, word of mouth n high school n college was amazingly effective! And also I was a bartender for quite some time. Sex comes up alot, n the topic of size usually goes hand n band with that. I tend to say the wrong thing when I might potentially sleep with a chick. Posted a craigslist ad once to avoid some of the awkwardness. Got a reply, but the woman's inbox was full. Probably wont do that again. Can't even imagine the type of woman I'd meet on craigslist.

My tip for picking up women is to let them pick me up. (Ok so not doing much of that any more as I'm on the swingers circuit, but at clubs). Don't go out looking for sex (a fuck). Go out and be yourself, with the intention of just having fun, don't actually hit on any woman in particular, but include them in your activity as an equal. The later the night gets the more likely women with a few drinks in them will hit on you - if they are looking for sex..don't go there if its really late. My rule number one... The most beautiful single woman in the room is probably Not taken, don't assume that because she is drop dead gorgeous that she is taken, get yourself noticed by her early and look out for her but, don't cramp her style or get in her face, unless that's what she wants. The rest is for you to have fun and be your self, not some persona, not some pretend dude or macho hero. My rule number 2> Never tell a lie, unless its about her looks make up, hair etc. If you lie , you will get tripped up, if not by her, then by your friends, family ,contacts. Women are not looking for the fittest hunk out there, they are looking for people that they can trust and feel safe with, but not so safe they think of you as a brother so keep it (talk)perky, but not rude.

When I was single, I would hit the bars with my buddies. Sometimes you got lucky, and sometimes you didn't. On the nights you didn't, your right hand was your best friend. I also used to pick up at my fraternity parties. Those Greek letters on my chest were an aphrodisiac to women! There was no Internet back then. I never have and never will pay for sex. Nothing screams "loser" more than a guy who has to pay for sex IMO.

To answer your original question –*bars are often a good place to pick up women for some casual sex. You have to pick your bar, obviously. If you're well dressed, the bars of business hotels in the city centre (or even, I speak from experience) at the airport are well worth trying. Lots of young (and some not so young) women away on business are quite keen to have some fun.

But for me the best source for a casual fuck (or at least a reasonably casual one) has always been women that I hook up with reasonably regularly –*call them fuck buddies if you will, because I guess that's what they are. Most of these are women that I met and had a ONS with; afterwards we agreed that it was fun and we might like to meet again; follow-up call within a couple of weeks led to another meeting, and it just developed from there. You've got to be pretty ruthless though, because as another poster above noted, this isn't really NSA sex, and you have to be prepared to call it a day if either of you (usually her) are becoming attached. So this approach is not for everyone.

Beyond that, casual hook-ups at parties, though this can lead to problems later, and exes (ditto).

agree with Willi4m - be yourself, never lie (I've learn my lesson on that too many times) and you will get noticed.

Also go on "dating" sites like tagged, pof, and others. In the past, I've been on those to meet & chat with some women, only to have the conversation turn to sex and the size of my cock within a matter of 15-20 min. You will be surprise how open and turn on these women get. Their sex drive is almost triple to what us men have. I've had great success on those, which was never my original intention. Some of the best highlights have been "teaching" women how to orgasm or squirt for the first time.

Word of advice - don't be a "creeper", one who asks too many questions, or repeatedly hounds the women. They can smell desperation & pathetic from a mile away. Also if you want sex or love, truly wish for it ... I know this sounds funny or too spiritual, but the laws of attraction come into play. When I think about wanting to be with someone, BOOM suddenly it happens within the next day or two ... and usually with a certain woman I've dreamt & wished about.

Usually Craigslist, although I don't rely on it too heavily. I have been avoiding the regular bar/in person scene as my girlfriend was living with me. It helps to have a couple friends and old hookups numbers memorized as well.

Almost 20 years ago AOL instant messaging worked well for me. Entirely different internet era. 5-10 years ago, I'd say craigslist has potential but these days it seems to just be a means for farming active email addresses. If you can't get out to a bar to try to hook up, pay for a full membership at something like adultfriendfinder and see if you can develop some 'resources'.
