When I lived in Birmingham, I was a member of one of the community theatre groups and we did the musical "Oklahoma" and he came and did "Curly."
We were in rehearsal when he came in from the airport and when introduced to the cast, first thing he said "let me get rid of this faggot tie!" Only thing I could think of was that our director wanted to improve his appearance and had him put it on.
(Our director even insisted we always wear CRC's (cute rehearsal clothes.)
Getting back to Harve, he was very professional and fun to work with.
