Truth, Justice and (now) the American way.

Instant gratification takes too long.

Please, don't send me a friendship request unless we genuinely have a relationship or you've at least discussed it with me first. I'd appreciate it. Muchly.

FABULOUS news!!!!

You know that my tears, have kept me awake
The longer you're gone,
I'll hunger and shake
From Warsaw to Rome, I'll wait out of time.

Life just got a little bit easier to live. Supreme Court upholds Obamacare - BostonHerald.com

Watch for the backlash claiming that this is a new "tax." It's already started, and the TEA Partiers are gonna have a field day. *sigh*

Let them have their field day. It's passed Congress and now its being upheld by the supreme court so there's nothing they can do about it.

“The Court holds that the mandate violates the Commerce Clause, but that doesn’t matter b/c there are five votes for the mandate to be constitutional under the taxing power,” SCOTUS blog adds.

How is it not a new tax?

That quote doesn't appear in the article I linked. Where did you get it from?

I don't know about the other networks, but CNN had a major "Dewey Defeats Truman" moment--initially declaring that the law had been struck down, then . . . oops . . . no it hadn't!

What you get for trying to report a complex judicial decision as you're reading it.

It's not a tax because it's paid to a private (insurance) company

The tax is for those who *don't* buy private insurance. To be administered by the IRS, even.

There certainly are a lot of shills out there for the health insurance industry.

I fail to understand how the government forcing individuals to do business with an industry that screws people at every turn is something to be celebrated. Personally I prefer to pay my own bills rather than begging an insurance company for permission for a procedure.

For those of you that think this is great news, I am reasonably confident you will live to rue the day.

A major triumph for the President but also for the integrity of the judicial system. I was particularly gratified to see that Chief Justice Roberts put his politics to the side and followed presidence.

The question now is will this decision cause President Obama to lose reelection? It may stir up the conservative base and with the race being so tight, that could be a deciding factor.
