Before I rag on Tom any further, I'd like to state for the record...

I admire the man, & wish him nothing but the best because:

• I think, and have always thought, he's a very attractive man.
• I also think he's a wonderful actor (see Rain Man, Far And Away, Eyes Wide Shut, Jerry Maguire, etc. and try to argue my point)
• He's a local NJ boy who made it not by nepotism, but by talent, sheer force of will, and fortuitous luck & opportunity (and surely those looks didn't hurt). Good for him.

I have no idea if he's a closeted gay man. Apparently he is a fanatic Scientologist. Whatevs. Fun to talk about it all tho...

And in other news, Travolta is banging at his front door after three failed marriages. But honestly, this guy must have a few loose screws in that head of his. Good actor, but can you say ego? He's a traditional Looney Toon. No matter how fit or hot he is, this guy will remain an incredibly short guy with an Napoleon Complex or just totally weird.

I don't like to get into religious discussions and this maybe more of a Tom Cruise thing (how intelligent he is) but everytime he speaks, especially about his religion, it makes no sense whatsoever. He sort of rambles on not really saying anything like a politician. Try living with that for five years and see how anxious you are to get the hell away.

Katie made a deal with the devil and it got her a career she would not have had. I find her a complete bore. Miss Tom Cruise will find another girl and get more milage again from it. He is a fucking nut case and the only actor I do not watch anymore because of what he stands for. I can only see him on screen and no character. I do think his plastic surg doc is pretty good thoough.

I have disliked Tom Cruise since he started his rant about post-partum depression being a hoax, and that all depression is just a scam perpetuated by medical professionals - especially psychiatrists. Who the hell was he to be giving out medical opinions and advice? I know people who suffer from severe depression, and if it wasn't for medical intervention, would most like be dead now due to suicide. I can't help but wonder how many impressionable people who suffer from depression took his advice and went off their medications and/or stopped receiving treatment because "Tom Cruise said it was all fake". What he said was totally irresponsible and dangerous and may have put a lot of people's lives in danger including children whose mothers suffer from post-partum depression.

I am an adult educator, and I remember at a teaching seminar that I attended 15 years ago, the presenter warned us that as teachers, what we say is far more powerful than what we think because our students look to us as authoratative figures. I have never forgotten that, and have always been very careful about the advice that I have given my students. I have had students come to me with severe depression, and I have always steered them towards people properly qualified to help them. I am university educated, but that does not mean that I am qualified to give out advice on anything and everything. What does Tom Cruise have in terms of education? I'm guessing high school at the most.

I stopped watching Tom Cruise movies years ago, and I got rid of all DVDs I had of him (only 2 because he was never that great an actor as far as I was concerned) because I couldn't stand to even look at the guy anymore. I lost all respect for him after he attacked Brooke Shields for receiving treatment for post-partum depression. I remember that Dr. Phil challenged Tom Cruise to appear on his show to debate psychology, and as could be expected, that mental midget Tom Cruise never took him up on it. Tom Cruise is a totally ignorant and obnoxious douche IMO.
