Tell a guy he stinks?

There's this guy at the gym that reeks. I'm not sure if it's just me thinking that. (maybe his sweat is a deterrent instead). I don't know this guy.

He works up a sweat every time but never showers. At this rate, I'm not sure he even showers at home! Or maybe he doesn't wash his sweaty clothes.

Would you tell a guy he stinks? Or ... Be more like myself and just keep my mouth shut and stay away? But sometimes I need to do my stuff! Arg!

Lol its gym, your supposed to work up a sweat. If he doesn't wanna shower there then its his choice. If you had to work with the fella id say yeah say something, but I reckon gym is a place where you're allowed to stink haha hopefully he uses a towel on the equipment!

Haha. I'm glad most people smell like fabric softener or deodorant! Otherwise I'll never go to the gym!

I don't think he wipes down the equipment nor does he lay a towel down. But I'll keep a lookout for that.

If it's a hygiene issue and he's stinking the place out, yes.

Some people have medical conditions that make them smell bad even if their hygiene is good. But if this guy isn't even taking a shower on his way out and he's stinking the place up then you might say something.

This is one of those slippery slopes in life. If it's really horrendous than I'm sure other people at the gym have noticed too. Say something to management and let them deal with it.

I work with a guy who smells like bad B.O. as soon as he arrives at work at 9am. He doesn't come from the gym, he just stinks very often. Surely he can smell it himself, and his cologne doesn't help -- It just makes it smell even worse!

If it others you that much say something to these people what are going to do? Punch you

This thread reminds me of women who wear too much perfume.

I think people who stink don't always know they stink like these women who overload on perfume. Their acuity to that one scent becomes dead so they heap on more and more not knowing that they in fact reeeeeeek. The same holds true with guys with perpetual BO. Their sense of smell has become so used to their BO that they don't smell it anymore.

I have on occasion subtly suggested to folk there hygiene needs improving (admittedly most were in my care)
but a few others were happy to oblige, and returned showered and just that little bit better .. true
