Then to have to live with the constant judgment of others? I get dirty looks all the time from people who get upset when I bring my son into a restaurant with me. Last week my meal was ruined because the woman at the next table wouldn't stop glaring at us from the time we entered until she left, which was near the end of the meal, even though my son was being a perfect angel and the people at the other tables seemed to think he was cute. It didn't occur to me until I left that gay people have to put up with that kind of crap all the time, everywhere they go. Suddenly I felt humbled.
