That is a damned good question!!!

I've seen a lot of nipples, and I don't think I've seen any that I'd consider "long."

I'd have to say I consider mine "pert," much more so than...long. Whatever that means, exactly.

Sorry, my nipples are quite small. I think I am on the larger size in the areola department, but I have always had very small nipples.

To me, you're talking about pert as much as long in the case of Farrah's famous picture. I would say that nipples look long when their length starts to exceed their width (just the nipple itself, not the aureola). I looked up some photos of Ali and Farrah, and both those women do have nipples that are at the beginning of that definition of long. I think I have seen a few photos of nipples approaching a length double the width, which really is long, but exceptional, and which I find a bit odd looking. I suspect that it some cases really long nipples have been temporarily or permanently extended by techniques such as pumping and stretching.

I like pert nipples, but then again there's something mysteriously alluring about even inverted nipples.....

My nipples really don't stick out much even when hard. I do however have very large areolas. However, the fact that they don't stick out doesn't seem to have affected their sensitivity!!!

My areolas are small and my nipples are long....I can not wear 'no bra' without men tripping over their feet,sometimes its kinda embarrassing.

Is this aroused or unaroused? Mine are the same height and width unaroused. Not sure what they are when aroused as I've never thought to measure them.

I would say the measurement is when unaroused, but as pert as they get under normal life circumstances - say, when cold. So yours, by the measure I proposed, are just at the beginning of long. I also think that nipples tend to appear longer if the aureola under them mounds outward significantly, which I think is the case with the pinup and celebrity mentioned.

That reminds me of another variable, isn't it the case that some women's nipples change more than others' due to circumstances such as temperature? Some stay mostly flat, others mostly, while some vary a lot according to conditions. Such wonderful, intriguing variety.....
