Paul mentions several times that circumcision is not required of Christians. Jeremiah said that circumcision among any one other than Jews was uncircumcision
(i.e. meant nothing as there was no covenant). Jesus mentions this in John 7:22-24:
Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
The non-canonical Gospel of Thomas records in 53:
His disciples said to him, "Is circumcision useful or not?"
He said to them, "If it were useful, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect."
