What is your biggest pet peeve?

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Just curious about what really hacks you off...

I could come up with quite a laundry list of things that irritate me, but the biggest two are:

1. Waiting. I don't like waiting on people who aren't on time. Punctuality is huge with me. I'm reasonable and understand that sometimes things occur beyond your control that may make you a few minutes late, but at least give me the courtesy of a phone call, and make sure you have a good reason. If it's "I just couldn't get myself together", that won't cut it.

2. Poor customer service. I can't remember the last time I went somewhere and was completely impressed by the service I received. These days, it seems that service personnel are rude, surly, disinterested and more concerned with goofing off with their co-workers. You're lucky if you can even get someone to look you in the eye anymore. They will do as little for you (and say as little to you) as possible until they finally get you to leave, which seems to be their goal all along.

So, now I want to know....what really chaps your ass?? It might feel good to vent a little...

I would rather be hated for who I am than loved for whom I am not.

I've got so many

Untidiness
Rudeness, although if someone's rude and it's justified fair enough
Fireworks
Friends who don't teach their kids my house is not their house
People who think borrowing a book (or anything else) means keeping it

Ditto on that, 36DD....as corny as it may sound, I'm a firm follower of the Golden Rule and wish everyone else would do the same. A little empathy goes a long way!

Okay

I was going to make a thread about this. And this is only a temporal peeve but its really annoying!

Backstory: the kettle's broke

So I'm boiling water in pans for my tea...which I don't mind.

HOWEVER. This one pan, I boiled the water in it, put it in my brew and my tea tastes like sprouts!!!

Sickening. This has happened twice now.

I wish I could disappear...

That's actually a great marketing idea, sprout flavoured tea :)

Is your career in marketing per chance?

Try some, tell me if you still think that!

Its like a paradox. It looks like tea but it tastes like sprouts. It overloads and disgusts the senses.

I wish I could disappear...

People that don't speak and understand English and work in places where they should know the language.

I was recently in Target looking for something to buy and the clerk didn't know what I was talking about. Then she got another clerk who also didn't know what I was talking about. Neither spoke or understood English very well. I had to get the store flyer and point to the sale item I wanted.

If it happened once in a while it wouldn't bother me, but it happens a lot. There's a Wendy's I go to and they always screw up my order, and I've gone to Burger King numerous times with coupons and the cashier didn't know how to use them. When I tried to explain it to her she didn't have a clue as to what I was saying. She had to call the manager over who had to translate it into her language.

Managers should only be hiring people who speak English fluently. I realize these are low paying jobs, but this is America and if you speak another language that is fine, but if you're going to be working in an establishment that caters to English speaking people, you need to learn the language.

Shop staff who would rather talk to each other than look after customers.

Bad driving sends me wild

On the other hand shop staff who follow you about making a nuisance of themselves.

Tea flavoured sprouts sound good too. I've always wondered why there aren't more savoury ice creams, roast beef and yorkshire pudding, chicken tikka masala, meat ball ice cream, I'm sure they'd make a fortune.

Hmm, ok, guess you're not in marketing after all!

I'd market it as being free from sugar, I'd be a millionaire overnight :)
