Clearly directors back then were way more inclined to fancy themselves as being legitimate filmmakers than is the case now; what with their carefully scripted scenes and hapless attempts at making witty, amusing dialogue. It's like they thought they were actual artists and s---.
Today's "auteurs" are far easier to stand, because they grasp that such is not the case--the pretentiousness factor has, thankfully, declined considerably (at least mostly). They tend to just get straight to the f---ing, and they deserve to be commended for cutting the s---.

Actually... I don't even look at recent porn anymore! I lOVE the look of the 35mm film that this scene was filmed in... digital video is crap, why do you think that 99% of the movies made today are still in either 70mm or 35mm film (most is 70mm)? They convert it to digital before they edit it. The film costs WAY more money than digital video, but it looks WAY better! The porn of the past was of a higher visual quality (I don't need to count the fine, baby hairs on a female's ass... this happens all of the time with digital video!) and provided the viewer with a better value! Todays porn is soooo cheaply made that there is very little value in it, I don't care for it any more... all of my bangbros, blackzilla, and assparade videos are just sitting there not doin' shit. Just throwing in my two cents on the subject.
