Long Time Lost (Incomplete)

Your back is turned as I step silently into the threshold. My lips shudder with an inaudible sigh as I take a moment to indulge in the sight of you. Creeping in behind you, the fingers of my right hand rise to delicately brush against your almost bare shoulder as my left hand tenderly curls about the belt of your dark denim jeans. You take my right hand and encourage it to join its brother as it grazes your elbow. You squirm playfully with a light trill of laughter as my lips reunite with your neck.

For a millisecond, as I reacquaint my ears with the lilting perfection of your voice, the world stops. Returning to reality, I push gently at your hips and you twist accommodatingly. You pull me just a little closer as your elbows slide over my shoulders. Your warm breath shimmers against my chin. Your fingers trace the line of my jaw before pausing at my Adam’s apple. They take a moment to drop by the wayside.

Your lips press into a thin smile as they attempt (valiantly) to suppress the cerise smirk. You never leave any doubt, you’re eager. Curling my fingers at the small of your back, my hands delicately, slowly, round your comely hips – you sigh lightly. With your arms still snaked over my shoulders, I begin to play with the loose end of your belt. Walking in the door I had no designs on making up for lost time, but three weeks and one day is a long time lost. I need no further encouragement. Your fingers knit into mine as your smirk returns. “Come.”

There will be no dragging of feet tonight. I pull your eyes into mine as we make the stairs. Mustering ourselves into an embrace, your lips press at my ear. They are words for me alone.
