21/Hung travelling to Davidson, NC next week

I grew up in that area and still have family around there.

In case you're going down there to meet friends/potential hookups/whatever, here are some recommendations:


Best barbecue (you should try it while you're in NC
Carolina Country Barbecue, 2522 Sardis Rd N (Charlotte)
Order the 1/2 pound shredded pork, and don't skimp on the sauce.

Good Italian locally-owned, non-chain restaurant:
Open Kitchen, 1318 W. Morehead (Charlotte)
Collegiate decor, service is a little slow, but worth it. They've been around for ages.

Good pizza:
Fuel Pizza Cafe, 404 S Main St (Davidson)
Close to campus, fun decor, great pizza.

Good steakhouses:
Longhorn, 10605 Centrum Parkway (Pineville)
Hereford Barn, 4320 N Interstate 85 Service Road (Charlotte)
Hereford Barn is a little pricey, but worth it if you want to impress someone -- it's
good food (and a lot of it), but not pretentious or snooty. Longhorn is also a good
deal if you want something a bit more traditional and not as expensive.
