This has probably been discussed before but I was brousing through a magazine and read an article on the Amish. Do they circumsize the males?
I know they rarely use electricity and ban zippers.

I couldn't say, but I wouldn't think that they do circumcise.

I have other amish questions though. They don't allow zippers, and I don't think they use buttons either, according to the Weird Al Yankovic "Amish Paradise" video.

What's the big fucking deal about zippers and buttons?

I have Amish neighbors in Michigan. They do no circumcise as almost all births are at home. Sad as this may sound one neighbor in his late thirties asked me if I would drive him to a Doctor in Indiana. As we were riding along I asked him if he was sick and he said I have an addiction. I inquired as I know you do not drink, nor do drugs what kind of addiction can you possible have. His reply was masturbation. His wife caught him and reported to the minister which in turn announced it to the church which in turn told him to go seek help at a center in Shipshewana that the Amish use. I told him if I would of known I was taking you for this I would not be doing it. I told it him it is natural and how can your minister and bishops even imply they have never jacked off. His reply was what is jack off, I further explained. We made the monthly drives fun as I took him out to eat and we looked forward to him going for his counseling. Recently I said are you behaving and he looked and said I DONT KNOW!

Poor soul!
But this caught my attention! Shipsey? I worked in Lagrange for several years in a group home for the mentally handicapped. We had an Amish client, and his penis looked between cut and uncut. A little less than half of the head was visible, and he was flaccid.

I used to get him laughing so hard when I'd walk in wearing one of the clients' dresses, or anything else along those lines. I'm sure the he's convinced I'm heading straight for hell.

The Bible says not to? Where? Wasn't Jesus circumcised since he was Jewish? And if Jesus was wouldnt the Bible say it was good? Or maybe Jesus was cut too tight...ouch, lol.

Paul mentions several times that circumcision is not required of Christians. Jeremiah said that circumcision among any one other than Jews was uncircumcision (i.e. meant nothing as there was no covenant). Jesus mentions this in John 7:22-24:

Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
The non-canonical Gospel of Thomas records in 53:

His disciples said to him, "Is circumcision useful or not?"
He said to them, "If it were useful, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect."

Attending school in Ohio there were many Amish near where I was.

The McDonald's in Twinsburg was rather fascinating. On one side of the building was the car parking lot and on the other side was the horse and carriage parking lot complete with tether posts and water trough. On Saturday night the Amish kids would come in all dressed in their usual clothing and then immediately dash to the bathroom. There the kids would change out of their Amish clothes and put on contemporary clothes. The girls would wear makeup and hairspray. They'd order, eat something, then spend the night with the other kids on the town. Just before closing they'd then come back to McDonald's, wash-up, change, and go home! The Amish may be anachronistic, but they're not stupid.

Chances are that he's not circumcised, and just has a short foreskin. Mine usually doesn't even quite cover half the head flaccid.

The Amish ban zippers because their thick overhanging foreskins would get caught in them otherwise. Ouch. When Jesus appeared to Paul on the Damascus Road He told him he would have more success selling the product if he made male circumcision optional. That was when Christianity ceased being just another Jewish sect and took its own path. Merchandising. And the rest is history.

Factoid: If you google "Amish Circumcision" the first link is from LPSG

http://www.lpsg.org/16763-amish-circumcision.html

It seems the general answer was: Uncut.
I would have more belief on this if it was not just tidbits thrown at us from LPSG members Why can we not get an Amish man or woman to post here and tell us?
No, the Amish do not circumcise as the Bible says not to.

The Bible says not to? Where? Wasn't Jesus circumcised since he was Jewish? And if Jesus was wouldnt the Bible say it was good? Or maybe Jesus was cut too tight...ouch, lol.
In the book of Scrotumophitamus, chapter 13 verse 9, "Yea I say verily unto you that no Amish boy or girl child shall ever be circumcized" it goes on in verse 15 to add: "Yea, for the Lord of the rings has been banished to the wood shed for using his rings as guides to cut our poor Amish lads and The Lord of all has thus determined that no circumcision shall ever be again performed against an Amish lad. Selah."

Unless we are fornicating with an Amish person we probably do not know and even then they may not all be uncut or uncut.

The nutty idea that they are born at home so it is not done is absurdity at a new level When God said that the Jewish boys were to be circumcised they were born at home as well
