Ben has always seemed aware of from where his bread was being buttered; he's never made bones about knowing of, and showing gratitude to his unusually large gay fanbase. I'm sure what happened to his dad was an equally motivating factor. If this endeavor is possibly more profitable for him than his sports career was - well good for him.
