Basic white briefs are still the best.
I have actually seen white briefs like the ones in the Abercrombie ad above in the last year or 2. One of the guys who wore them when he first came here I am pretty sure still wears them but I have converted him to a jockstrap for wrestling most of the time.
My current GF has a very athletic teenage son. From what laundry I have seen he as quite a variety of underwear, but I didn't know the full extent til I helped he move in a new bed and stuff recently. He was re arranging his dresser and chest. taking everything out and putting on his bed.
Too my surprise he had jockstraps, bikini briefs, briefs, trunks, boxer briefs and boxers.
The briefs he had didn't seem to be a complete set like you would have if you had bought them. When I ask him he told me he and his friends all had briefs they had shared when they bought them. Usually bought for a sport.
I am hoping to get him to lean more towards the jockstraps and less toward the briefs for sports.
He has wore both white bikini briefs and white FOTL and Jockey briefs under his football girdle.
He is very preppy and wear fairly short shorts, on a recent date I know he wore briefs under his shorts. FOTL briefs and Vinyard vines shorts, what a contrast.
And I can assure you he fits the straight bill.
Another recent thing was our school held a rodeo/horse show as a fundraiser for something.
The ask to use our visitors locker room and have access to the showers for the guys riding.
This was all college guys, all wrangler wearing, dress shirt wearing 20 something guys.
Since giving them access to this are left me no way to lock up our locker room which many guys still have personal stuff in, I needed to monitor it.
I bet half or more of the guys were wearing briefs under those wranglers.
Kind of funny, but they were out helping set up the gates and pens and stuff then wanted to shower before they put on almost identical clothes they took off just to go ride in the rodeo.
Saw FOTL, Gildan, Hanes and some Joe Boxer white briefs which I actually have some of myself. And one of them actually left a pair of Hanes Signature series briefs which I think I remember seeing in our local Kmart back in my high school days.

Same thing with my area, tons of guys still wear white briefs. Usually Hanes or fruit of the loom, I've always worn white briefs and have never though about changing at all. Don't want to be out working in the field without any support for you man parts! Also pretty common to see white briefs hanging on cloths lines in the summer months too?View attachment 476723 View attachment 476722 View attachment 476722 View attachment 476723 I never have understood why guys these days have such an aversion to plain white briefs. I'm in my mid 20s and still wear them because they are soft, comfortable, supportive and fit snugly around my crotch and bottom. When I was just a kid, my mom bought me the stereotypical little boy briefs or "Underroos" with cartoon or superhero characters on them. When I was probably 11 or 12, she started buying me plain white briefs to wear since that is what she also bought for my older brother. In fact, neither me nor my older brother ever bought our own underwear until we moved away and started college.
I'm from a small rural town and went to a small school district where all the boys drove pickup trucks and the typical boy's wardrobe mainly consisted of white t-shirts, Wrangler or Levis blue jeans, either work boots or cowboy boots, tube socks, and basic full-rise Hanes and Fruit of the Loom white briefs. Because we were a small school, most boys that participated in sports played on both the football and baseball teams during season. We had one main locker room which was a big square room with the lockers and benches positioned around the perimeter of the room, so we were all able to see each other change. Though I never counted an exact number, of the 20 or so guys that changed daily in our locker room, at least 17 or 18 of us never wore anything but basic Hanes or FOTL white briefs under our blue jeans. Most of us kept extra underwear in our lockers, and if you walked into our locker room after football or baseball practice, you'd definitely see a bunch of teenage boys putting on plain white briefs before putting our jeans on. It's not like we didn't know boxers or boxer briefs existed...just that in a small farming/ranching town where most of the boys wear tight jeans and still ride horses daily, the most logical and most readily available choice of underwear continues to be classic white Hanes and Fruit of the Loom briefs. While my college buddies are a lot more diverse in their underwear preferences, all of my friends from high school as well as their brothers and fathers all still wear briefs.
This is a fucking inspiration!View attachment 476723 View attachment 476722 View attachment 476722 View attachment 476723 I never have understood why guys these days have such an aversion to plain white briefs. I'm in my early 20s and only have worn white briefs my whole life. Honestly I've never really gave any other underwear type a though because I've been wearing briefs for so long I'm just used to them. My mom always bought my underwear till I was 20 years old and it was always tighty whities. I wore Hanes till I was like 14 then she started buying fruit of the loom and that's what I've been wearing ever since. I'll probably never switch either, the fit great, support everything, and are comfortable to me.
And there are loads of straight guys out there that only wear white briefs, we wear them growing up and just never change. If your already comfortable and used to them why make a change, it's just underwear not everyone is going to see them.
WELL SAID!!
