As for me (and I don't at all claim to speak for all men), I'd much rather be either sitting or standing than lying down. Sitting vs. standing doesn't really matter, but upright with her in front of me easily beats me being on my back.

The main reason I prefer to be upright is when I'm vertical, and she's in front of me, I can see her face and her entire body, watch what's going on in detail, and there's just a lot more interaction.
