First, if you prefer it that way, that's your choice and that's fine. I agree that it can be more sensitive, which is why I trim. If you like it, that's good on you. I have issue with men finding pubic hair disgusting, which is a really hateful, strong word for something that is natural and normal for a woman.
The thing is, it does look like a 10 year old girl, and though that's said a lot to be disparaging, it's true. Secondary sexual characteristics like broad hips, pubic hair, and breasts are what separate a child from a woman physically. For me, that's the most troublesome part of the trend philosophically-- yet another thing women need to do to look both unnatural and more childlike. As it is, men are being raised on porn that shows women that are completely unnatural, from surgery to shaving to airbrushing and it puts even more of a burden on women to become an unreachable ideal. When you add to it the idea of making a woman more childlike, it's troubling to me. Women in porn lately look and sound like 10 year old girls with giant tits and cartoon faces, and there's something that simply doesn't sit right with me. A bald pussy is only part of that.

I had mine lasered off... it was the best thing I ever did. No more shaving, stubble, razor burns or hairs. The caveman days ended thousands and thousands of years ago, we no longer need hair there to capture the smell and attract a mate. I'll stay clean, fresh and baby smooth

Another misconception about unshaved women is that they're unclean which is a load of horseshit. Sure they can be if they don't wash well but so can any other woman who decides to neglect her hygiene.
If any man thinks pubic hair on a woman is gross, fine. That's your preference. Just so you know if you're not shaving your balls they're probably flossing while they're giving you that glorious head you love so much.
Fortunately my lover likes my method of shaving underneath and leaving a nice soft reddish patch on top.
A shaved adult woman's vagina looks absolutely nothing like the vagina of a 10 year old girl, at least not anymore than an adult man's penis looks like the penis of a 10 year old boy. This assertion is ridiculous, designed to shame those who have different aesthetic tastes than your own into feeling bad about themselves by associated them with pedophiles. It's no less hateful than someone calling a woman who doesn't shave disgusting.

It's a shame that so many discussions here reduce themselves to insult sessions. Maybe its because we don't speak face-to-face. In our parents' day, I doubt they ended up insulting each other because one thought it was good to shave your pussy and another thought is disgusting. ryan, while i agree with your sentiment completely, i disagree with you on your first point. having had and seen all manner of vaginas from birth to old age, women's vaginas change very little when going through puberty except for hair growth. even in men, besides the hair, there's a change in size and that's about it. i think the size change is significant in men, but that's something that women simply don't have.
the only thing i've seen affect the looks of a woman's vagina is childbirth and age, and by age i mean over 50 or more when there's a marked difference in the skin texture everywhere on the body.
with that said, i agree that it's not cool to disparage anyone on their aesthetic tastes, but the statement that a bald pussy looks like a 10-year old's is a valid reason to not like it. it's also hard to deny that a lot of female hygeine routines are and have historically made women revert to looking like they did pre-puberty. it doesn't mean that anyone specific is a pedophile, but the implications are somewhat disturbing.

everything i'm reading points to a change in the mucosa of the vagina in color (which isn't what you really see too much of, it's inside), but no changes in the size or color of the labia, except perhaps from the hair under the skin in the follicles if she has dark hair and fair skin.
as far as it being "truly gross," i don't get it. it's like the circumcision argument, americans are grossed out by foreskins for no reason except that they aren't used to them.

The comforting thing is that you don't have to worry about pleasing everybody, just yourself and the one you're with. My bf likes it natural so it doesn't really matter if some random poster does or not.
Where it becomes sad is when you have two people who are in a relationship (as the OP is) and one person can't look past simple grooming choices made by the other person.
