Do you know of any medical side effects long term with pumping? I don't think I'll try it because my gf and I already have problems with girth (frequent microtears), but I am always the curious one.

I always looked at pumping (PE, in general) just like fitness/working out.
It's basically the same type of thing.
Penis tissue is similar [but admittedly not identical] to smooth muscle tissue - it respond to fatigue and training by coming back bigger and stronger if adequate recover is allowed.
So long as you aren't being reckless (overtraining or training without proper warmup), you'll be absolutely fine.
My rule of thumb is -
If I can't get a good erection (without cialis), I'll take the day off. No pumping, no PE of any sort.
That has served me well and I've had absolutely no problems with erection quality (it's better - but do to kegels, mainly) at all.
Discoloration is the only side effect from jelqing/pumping. I've had the 'PE ring' since 2003, long before pumping
