This brings up the bigger societal point that most people don't seem to understand. A lot of homophobic people don't understand what the term homosexual means, and day in and day out they call themselves heterosexual but undergo many homosexual acts.

Bottom line, if it involves another naked person of your same sex besides you, then it's homosexual!! By definition it's homosexual. Not a hard concept to understand. Now that doesn't mean whatever it is is full blown gay necessarily, but it does mean that at least part of whatever is going on that involves your same sex is homosexual (i.e. involving your own sex).

This includes watching straight porn. It's a supposed straight man, with a straight lady - all fine and dandy. BUT if you are watching it as a man or a women then there is a homosexual element there. Yeah my rl example of all this is a friend of mine who is the typical "straight and married" type.

To him anything involving a naked man (even if it's him) is GAY, not just homosexual... but gay.

He said he doesn't look at himself naked in the mirror because that's gay.

He doesn't let the doctor look at him naked because that's gay.

Unfortunately though, I'm not so sure there aren't tons of other guys out there that think just like him. In fact, I'd venture to say that the typical testosterone driven "straight" guy thinks exactly the same way he does. For whatever reason, that's how they envision the alpha straight guy is supposed to act and operate so they follow suit.

The way I see it, you're gay if you engage in sex with other men. That's about it.

I had a teacher in psychology that said we're all gay, we all like to see attractive bodies whether they be male or female, gay or straight. I think she's right on that. I can admire a muscular man, but I wouldn't get intimate with one like I would with a woman. It doesn't turn me on the same way, or even come close.

The words homosexual and gay do not necessarily mean the same thing. They can be used synonimously in the right context, but to assume that they mean the exact same thing would be a grievous mistake on anyone's part.

Homosexual is more plainly just of, relating to, etc. your own sex... not necessarily having sex with your own sex. Although it can also mean that.

Being sexually Gay, however is having sex with your own sex.

Most people use homosexual/gay interchangeable and that's not the correct usage at all.

In my experience, guys who spend this much time thinking about what is gay and what is not gay have some major issues like being very insecure or being so attracted to men that they have to super-supress it, like Vulcans on Star Trek had to supress their emotions, to use a 1970's analogy. More recently (10 years ago?) in the movie In and Out with Kevin Kline he played a gay teacher who was outed by Matt Dillon's character accepting an Oscar. Anyway..........one of his students tells the other students that the only time it's OK to be gay is if you're in space because you can't help it if you float into each other. LOL.
