If you do make a tape, MB, I'd love to see it.
WellHung, I'm not sure where you get the idea that there ain't too many gay/bi guys in Scotland. There's a fairly good scene in Glasgow and Edinburgh and smaller ones in Aberdeen and Dundee. The main problem is that we've got a relatively small population due to events of a couple of hundred years ago when about a third of the population got shipped off to the States and Canada, but that's for another thread.
Just take a look on Gaydar and Squirt and you'll get an idea of how many of us there are and that's only the tip of the iceberg. A lot of guys, especially those how live in small communities are in the closet (and/or in denial) and don't have the opportunity to go out on the scene at all and don't want to risk being outed by a profile on a gay site. I must admit I was suprised to find three guys who were on my year in school on Gaydar and I know of a few others, both older and younger than myself.
I used to live on the Isle of Skye. There's even a small scene there, but it's pretty discreet. It revolves around people's homes and occasional parties which you only ever hear about if you're invited to one! Most of the time, you don't have a clue that a guy's gay until he tells you or you meet him at a party. I remember being surprised a few times.
Yes, there is homophobia in Scotland, but I don't think it's any worse than anywhere else in the UK and it's a hell of a lot better than it was 20 years ago. We seem to have a reputation for being ready for a fight all the time and that's a bit stereotyped. Most of Scotland's reputation seems to be based on the East End of Glasgow 40 years ago, but the truth is, like all countries, the people living in one four-square-mile area aren't representative of the population as a whole, and especially not 40 years later.
I live in England now, but that will hopefully change in the next few months. I think it's time I moved back north.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand, if you fancy going to Glasgow and having a night out in a kilt, let me know. A word of advice though, get some practice in first as you're liable to have a boner that won't go away the first few times you wear one.
