John McCain is often criticized for suspending his campaign to DO HIS JOB. Barack Obama gets a free pass to suspend his campaign to DEAL WITH FAMILY ISSUES. As his grandmother was not dead when he suspended his campaign, I hardly thing it woudl be covered under FMLA. Fruthermore it completely invalidates that argument Obama used, that John McCain couldnt handle multiple things at once. Guess what, neither can Obama!

The thing is, McCain didn't actually DO anything when he suspended it. He made an appearance, similar to high school girls stopping by a party for a few minutes when it's almost over. He did not contirbute, and thank god. We don't need someone who admitedly doesn't know much about the economy trying to solve real economic issues...let's leave that for the experts, not the war veterans...

You obviously werent paying attention. John McCain wanted to make sure he was present to observe the mechanics of the plan development. Its a really hands-on approach. Then he ran a mini-campaign to garner support for the bill so that it would pass. He did a lot more than Barack "Call-me-if-you-need-me" Obama did.

Technically, those highschools could be found to be inviolation of the US constitution if anyone brought suit. Fruthermore, it was not alwasy optional as the screen cap in the third link proves. "Require" is not optional.
So the republican candidate for president had the task of rallying his republican troops in the senate...BFD. I was paying attention and every news report I read said McCain had no contribution whatsoever to the formation of the TARP. He sat there, silent, twiddling his old, arthritic thumbs

I dont know what you were reading, but if you look back at the entirety of reporting on the bailout, there are conflicting reports where Dem's were claiming McCain got in the way, while many deliberators came forward (even dems) saying it was all a lie and they weren't even close to a deal.

Notice it does not say require. The college thing is OPTIONAL, and if students choose to part take in the tax break, they are then required to perform community service in exchange for it. The tax break doesn't apply to everyone, like me for example, whose parents pay their tuition.
Rush does nothing but spew HATE! I think the American people spoke loud and clear they are tired of the hate. I think the American people should boycott all of the sponsors who provide Rush with his millions of dollars per year. American people start emailing those sponsors and lets see how Rush does without the big bucks. He surely forgets his drug abuse, his doctors viagra, his doctor medical board should fine him for filling Rush's viagra prescription. Guess he is not the man he wants everyone to believe he is.
