Once upon a time I wanted to do porn. Now I'm not as stupid, older and have questions. I don't think I'll get any certain answers here, but why not start researching at LPSG.

  1. How does the porn industry stay afloat?
We can download it, tube it, and sex shops are seedy small markets located in unusual parts of town. With all the free-sharing, who is actually buying this shit?
  2. How do the girls not have vaginal issues?
This is more a personal aside, but rough sex without lubrication has been a constant motive for post here involving large penises. And what industry is stocked full of big dicks beside law other than porn? These girls are often under contract to have up to 7 - 20 scenes in a month? All the big dick sex has to have some sort effect, even if they are well-prepared everytime. Eeh, idk - it just seems problematic.

Lots of people still buy porn - though porn companies are hurting from all the pirating and free X-Tube style porn. Still, billions upon billions of dollars are spent on porn yearly.

How do the women (fify) not have vaginal issues?

You'll need to ask a porn star about that one. My guess is that vaginas are pretty resilient.

A) I belong to two sites that produce vids that cater to my particular tastes (oh, and don't go there, they're pretty mainstream) because it's easier than going through pages of bullshit on "free" sites which will only let you watch three flicks a day before you're done and you hate them all.

B) I don't see any difference between women and men here; professionals, in 'rough fucking', all figure it out. (And, btw, my tastes don't run to "professionals" anyway.)

First, there's a digital divide. Many people do not have access to computers, modern computers that can stream vids, or have no access to broadband.

Also, as Nick8 mentioned, some people are devotees to a particular performer or genre and are avid collectors.

Further, adult entertainment companies tend to be highly diversified.

In terms of long-term performers - women have pussy and ass issues, guys have dick and ass issues. That's just the way it is. Most people are in and out after a few scenes.

I'm sure the porn industry has been harmed by all the pirateing but some people still like to buy DVD's and actually own the store bought, real thing.

and as far a women vag's issues, depends on the woman. when my wife & I were younger, it was pretty common for us to fuck 20 times between Friday afternoon and Sunday nite, and usually twice per day at least during the week. I have a big, thick cock. my wife said she would get a little sore, but it was a "good" hurt, making her want more. she would get pretty wet, we never used any lube.

had one gf that liked to fuck on Friday nites, and the next day Saturday, she didn't want nothing to do with a cock, altho the nite before she couldn't get enuf.

had another gf that was like my wife, she would take on every hard on I could pop. worst part is most of the time I only got to see her on weekends.

Unnamed, I will assume you are asking those questions seriously. Most of my experience is dated, but I stay in touch.

1) Nick8 is right--in an industry with virtually no costs, it isn't hard to stay afloat. Moreover, America makes the best porn in the world, and we export a lot of it. Some years the dollar value of porn exports beat the dollar value of aircraft exports.

2) You mentioned "unlubricated" sex. There is such a thing as editing. Just because you didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I think you underestimate the ignorance of many. It's easy to think that everyone has high speed internet, a smart phone, and watches their TV & movies on Netflix, because those are popular avenues in the technology world. But you also have lots of people hiding in the crevices of anti-technology who either can't grasp it, don't care to, don't have access to it, or somehow never heard of it.

As Nick8 said, sometimes browsing free porn can be tedious: sometimes you just want something readily available that you know will be good. I can certainly understand that. I promised myself I'd never find myself "pornless" again on a horny night with no girl and nothing overly arousing to get myself off, so I started archiving stuff I liked and storing it away in Bit Heaven for a "rainy day" (as defined by no internet or an overly difficult day finding good porn). A few years and hundreds of gigs later, I'm left with way too much porn, the guilt of a pervert, a wasted hard drive and an expansive wealth of porn that, while probably good, I 1) have already seen multiple times (it's "old" to me) and 2) couldn't remember all of it if I tried-- it's just too much. So my master plan didn't exactly work. Am I ready to start paying for porn? Probably not, but I can definitely see where Nick8 is coming from. It would be much easier to have a source of fresh porn that satisfies, and I can understand people paying for that.

Think of all the kids out there who shouldn't be watching porn anyway, who couldn't risk getting caught on the computer-- yay magazines. Think of all the deployed soldiers who either don't have significant others or they're back home and don't want/like their body/face in front of a camera-- yay DVDs.

Plus, the porn industry jives with the sex toy industry. I'm sure there's plenty of people who buy some kind've toy that's modeled after an actor or actress, and then decide to invest some time seeing what said person is all about.

And my last excuse for buying porn is for the people (no judgement) that are into the "less common" stuff. Where your significant other will likely fail you, where amateur porn will also likely fall short, you can always depend on some perverted producer to make a porno.
