Mom always has food. She'll let you use her appliances, plus she doesn't care about your bra status. Aunties, too. That's how I end up with a houseful (I also have air conditioning!)

I heard that Atticus is depicted as a racist or at least in a negative manner in the book. Apparently, this was earlier depiction of Atticus Finch and reveals an viewpoint Harper had prior to her writing Mockingbird.
