There is quite a lot of discussion on the forum about the size of the glans - especially the girth – but I couldn’t really find anything about the shape. And yet this seems to vary a lot between individuals.

Not long ago, in the showers after workout, I found myself next to a man with a good sized cock - 6 inches/15 cm vicinity. What surprised me was when he pulled the foreskin back to wash, and revealed a very short glans. It was not small – it looked quite a bit thicker than the shaft – but it was very short, a bit like a shell. Mine is just the opposite – long and tapered at the end, and I’ve seen other shapes which are different again.

I have been surprised to see such a wide variation in the shapes too
It is more noticeable here in America where most guys are circumcised, and everybody can see the shape of everybody elses

There is a book I remember thumbing through, I think it is called The Magic of Sex It's one of those couples manuals. I think I remember it having a diagram of different shaped glans. Also, there is something in The New Male sexuality
I'm not sure you would find these books were you are.

Thanks for the information. The site is basically meant - as far as I can see - - to prove that cock sizes are very variable and that most men's are much smaller than what you see in porn.

The part on the glans gives a couple of different shapes - especially as far as the rim is concerned and how far it sticks out. There are pictures to show heads that are much more prominent than the shaft and some that are less. Nothing though about long and short heads (though there is a photo of a short cockhead similar to the one I mentioned seeing in the showers) and nothing about tapered heads (like mine!)

My glans is sort-of helmet shaped...like the sort of aerodynamic helmet that track bike racers wear. The ridge is much more prominent on the top side of the shaft. When erect there is about a 1/4" drop from the end of the ridge to the shaft.

That's a good interesting question on glans. I am not familiar with what a tapered glans looks like as some have commented on. I've heard of helmet head and a quick image comes to mind however not one on tapered. I have a similar head to the ones displayed below "le gland paraît petit en proportion du reste de " unfortunately it's not as large as the girth of my shaft so it tends to dwarf the head some. I am not sure if there is a name to that type of head. Anyone?:smile:

There were not enough distinctly separate categories for me to classify my glans. It is very pointed and larger than most I have ever seen.... and has the same girth as my shaft and is about 6.75 cm in length. My frenulum and prepuce are very pronounced as well! See my erect gallery picture.

You're quite right Donkeyboy. Your glans is quite large both in width and length but I gather you don't have much of a rim? Sorry I couldn't discern the prominent frenulum in your pics but very nice pics eitherway. :smile:

The flared Mushroom head is the most obvious glans shape and size and, I feel, the most pleasing.
There is also the cone shaped glans which tapers almost to a point ...
The flare seems more striking when the man is circumcised .
I have seen some uncircumcised penises however with very proturbent glans.
The foreskin seeming to have a corseting effect .

You're quite right Donkeyboy. Your glans is quite large both in width and length but I gather you don't have much of a rim? Sorry I couldn't discern the prominent frenulum in your pics but very nice pics eitherway. :smile:

When I was cut at age 45, the surgeon made two stages of the surgery in order to preserve the huge frenulum , per my request. It had always been so important in lovemaking! Even now it can be pulled out and away from my shaft 5.5 cm for play.. total frenulum length is about 6.5 cm. The rim to my glans measures 7 in in girth, but it is not nearly as flared as so many others.
The streamlined shape of my glans is ideal for sex in tight holes!:tongue:

I screwed up my terminology, where I said prepuce I meant meatus or slit! :redface: Prepuce is something I have very little of... since it was cut at age 45!

I have seen a strangely shaped glans on two different men but the glans on both were shaped the same. I think that both men had been circumcised and that is why these odd shaped glans showed. the shafts looked normal but the heads were flat as a pancake and they flared out from the shafts about 3/4 of an inch all the way around---sort of like a ruffle. I saw the first man in the Army and the second man at a local beach but their glans were of the same shape. Has anyone else seen anything like these strange " heads " ?

Yes, I have read this too, that cut tend to flare more, while intact are more long and pointed. But I've encountered a fair few exceptions. One, cut only a few years ago, was quite like a flat mushroom, much wider than the shaft.
