I was big into sounding. I used to go big all the way to my bladder with a custom made 1/2" sound. Problem was that no matter how clean i was, i would always get a massive UTI. I have recently undergone surgery to repair my meatus. I figured it would stop me from my dangerous addiction of sounding, but the doctor has given me a sound to dilate myself at home! Ironic, ain't it? Anyway the best advice ilI can give is be clean! I mean surgically clean. One UTI and you may always be susceptible to them.
I have no intention of going that far into the stretching side of things. I got mine to have a play now and then. But having a spray bottle of diluted disinfectant handy to wipe the sounds, or warm and sterilise them by using a little disposable lighter might help. Also pissing after play helps flush out the tube too. Keep the area where you play with them sterile as well, put them down on, pick them up off a clean surface. Disinfect your hands.

I meet that point at the bottom of my cock too.
