Not a second thought about it with college roommates or later on in the military. Overseas deployment to a hot climate with little to no A/c meant a lot of underwear and nakedness just to try to stay cool. Forget trying to worry about it with open showers and bathrooms and guys sleeping in groups. Later no problem when married until daughters came along and then just shorts over the underwear and problem solved. There are bigger things to worry about and when did this big modesty craze come about?

The few times I've been in a room with a friend in his boxers it was usually because he insisted on changing. At most I've always been kind of annoyed. Its not because they are half-dressed, its because we were going to a party or the park for football or something, and they'd hold me up to drag their feet.

I don't have a problem with a man's body, but we've all got places to be, and standing there in our underwear isn't one of them.

Is it alright to do when you are alone? Its 90 degrees here seven months out of the year, I tend to wear nothing but shorts and the occasional shirt. If companies coming, I get dressed.

In my house? I'm 42 and married, with kids. My wife and/or kids often have friends over, so hanging out after work nude or in undies isn't usually an option. I do go swimming or to the gym with one or two male friends, once in a while, and in that situation, I couldn't care less. I'm 100% straight. My nudity and theirs is meaningless. My male friends rarely hang out at my place.

When I was young and single, I often had room mates. Back then it was the same: meaningless. Of course, no-one was "hanging out" naked...but changing clothes, walking down the hall nude to the shower, going skinny-dipping, etc, was normal. Again, meaningless.

To a straight man, another man's casual nudity is nothing.

What I find interesting is that someone would possibly get embarrassed while being seen in boxers. Briefs or something skimpier, I could maybe understand. But boxers are often just a pair of shorts covering the same amount of skin normally covered by shorts. Hmmm.

Naked no reason?
Put some fucking clothes on, jackass.

Walking around briefly nude, in his boxers, while getting ready for a date?
Who gives a shit. I've had roommates.

I guess I should start reading the whole thread. I could have just quoted you and said "Agreed"

Well I guess when guys swim they wear just swimming trunks, and that has become a normal thing now. Just them in boxers is to much for me, we all know that just having boxers on is automatically grounds for your dick flying out. It happens. But I am never comfortable seeing a guy naked. Cant say I have. Shirt off, I just dont like it because to many guys do it around my town for reasons unknown.

So I guess if an article of clothing would have to be off for this question, I guess I would be ok with shirt off, but not pants or shorts off.

To me the only issue might be the relationship you share- for some guys there's a level of friendship that includes a "buffer zone".. and introducing nakedness would cross this buffer zone to a point that might be no longer balanced. For example, if my boss was a man, I don't think I'd want to end up in a social scene naked with him- it woudn't be something that I would choose. It wouldn't kill me - instead it would just be an accommodation I'd make because I'm an adult and it's a non-issue.

That being said, I think if we go back to the original question- FRIENDS- hell ya. Why? Because being naked (or even in underwear) is nearly always a social choice- and I'm happy to send a signal to a buddy that I am CHOOSING to let him in that social circle of trust- and I feel most accepted when the same concession is given to me.

I agree that it really shouldn't be an issue in and of itself- for example, in a locker room- but in most other places you choose to walk out of the room and change, or what to wear to bed, etc. If it's really my FRIEND, then I accept that person- perhaps even look for ways, spoken and unspoken, to deepen that trust, affection, acceptance, goodwill, or what have you. It's the proverbial unwrapping of the layers of the onion- getting to the real person beyond the facade.

Does not bother me either way or with either gender. Sex is a necessity for reproduction between male and female, sex is a necessity for pleasure between same sex couples. A completely unclothed body is simply that, it is not a sex object until you turn it into one.

No different for me than Jr and Sr HS locker rooms.

Remember something about this: If we had been given Co-Ed locker rooms when I was in Jr or Sr HS there were of course going to be male and female bodies that were very good eye candy. There were also going to be bodies that could wilt an erection based on half a bottle of viagra too. The question is the automatic sexualization of the human body without reason or cause.

I have no issue atall but there is always a little bit of tension the first time you get naked with a mate, wondering if they will do it too, who will go first, what if they get freaked out? There are two lads I work with who are 19 and 23 and we all went away for a weekend and stayed at a hotel on a training course. We used the pool and gym there and I was wondering how they were going to act in the locker room, but to my surprise the 19 year old just dropped his shorts after swimming and stood there with his dick hanging out. I quickly followed suit and we bothe showered naked together in the open showers. The third guy initially came into the showers in his shorts but I said " don't you feel like the odd one out". He just went, yeah fuck it, ive got nothing to be ashamed of" and dropped his too.
