I just don't see the whole "porn star" angle, as most women have a mild curiosity about porn at best -- and certainly don't keep track of, and follow the male porn stars. Ask 100 random women if they know who Julian Rios is, then ask 100 random men if they know who Sasha Grey is.

I don't watch Oprah. But in any case, I don't buy those statistics, and would like to know how they were generated.

The reason I say this is my own empirical observations. I have plenty of friends of both genders, and almost all the guys I know watch at least some porn. On the other hand, while most women have seen a little porn out of curiosity I think I know one girl who watches it with any regularity. I think most people reading this have the same experience.

Another reason why I don't believe that woman account for 1/3 of the porn viewing that occurs is the economics of the industry (as I understand it). The reason that girls get paid so much more than guys to be in straight porn, and it is much harder to make it in straight porn as a guy is a matter of supply and demand. The customer simply cares more about the girls than the guys -- that's because the vastly predominant audience is straight men.

Look at the gender demographic of who posts regularly here on the "straight adult websites" forum on the "Large penis support group" for starters. I mean if 1/3 of all the people who are into porn are women, then why are the such a small fraction of the people posting here. Seems like the kind of place that would attract female fans of straight porn. And I would argue it does -- all 1 out of 100 or so of the fans in general.

But anyway well see how this stripper troupe does.
