Any of you go back far enough to remember the Kirk Alyn Superman?

I'm a Noel Neill fan myself - Lois Lane, back when Kirk Alyn and, later, George Reeves were Superman. She was particularly good in heels when running to clock a baddie.

According to STAR magazine, the new superman's costume was computer tailored right down to the most intricate measurements and apparently he couldn't let his weight change by less or more. It's going to real interesting to see how they confine a bulge in that thing.

Well, he is pretty hot. But, sadly, whatever he's packing has nothing to do with the bulge in his costume, which was carefully constucted by the costume department and approved by every VP at Warner Brothers.

Also, I hear he's pretty fucking terrible in the movie, which I also hear is a real stinker.

The costumers really had nothing more to do than just take the measurements from the computer and go from there.

'Sides, it seems to me I remember WB getting pretty liberal about approving certain other costumes with more distinct bulges than the new man of steel's.

He looks too childish/babylike (in his face) to be Superman. Good job Spider-Man is my favourite superhero.

I read that this guy is so well-endowed, they had to tape his penis down.

LOL

:popcorn:My cynical side thinks this film is a big stinker and the gay publicity machine in Hollywood are attempting to get some underground buzz going. Without seeing what acting chops Routh has it may be premature, but taking one look at him I long for the ancient albeit corny TV acting of George Reeves, filmed nearly two decades before I was born.

George Reeves knew how to take-off too, with a running start like V1-rotate-positive rate-V2... Then whosh and way cool music. Superman cannot fly without his music! Finally there he was, soaring above Los Angeles city hall, flying improbably at times with a negative angle of attack, but it was so cool. And woah to Mugzy Maples and dozens of other bad guys (oddly played by the same character actor.)

I don't care if Routh has my length and twice my girth, George Reeves was the man!!

That's why I mentioned Kirk Alyn. He was the first film Superman, in the 1948 serial "Superman". That was such a hit they put him in "Atom Man vs. Superman" in 1950. The memorable thing was Kirk A.'s weird little ballet twirl just before taking off. I figured some of you guys might appreciate it. It was certainly nothing like the George R. two-footed stomp on his way out the window.

I agree with the scrawny description. I have some suggestions if he would like to bulk up his upper body to actually look like a superman. George Reeves in the old TV show was the best. Christopher Reeve was okay, but they are no Terminator/Conan.
