Why I'm responding to you I don't know.
The main reason the attitude shifted was medical - doctors stopped doing it as matter of course. So when the decision was placed squarely with the parents, many decided it was unecessary. That led to medicare making it an elective procedure. I grew up in a "upper class" area, and it was in those areas where the cut rate dropped earliest.
I'm uncut, and very healthy thank you very much. Just shows how little you really know.
