Personally i think the above poster and other gay men that are "grossed out" or revolted by the female anatomy are just presenting a hetero phobic response whether consciously or unconsciously as a reaction to the homophobic response of most heterosexual men when presented with homosexual situations.
True, to the extent of the fact that some gay/straight men/women, genuinely can feel repulsed.
The 'gross factor' with some gay men. It's comparable, and related to the average heterosexual male's
exaggerated outward response to large breasts, and 'shaking of the ass' that permeates Western society daily. And this response that some gay men have formulated can be called 'reactionary heterophobia'. And can arrive due to repression through witnessing peer's disgust at male/male imagery, and excessive, outward delight towards straight imagery.
This reactionary type of heterophobia does not carry the same violent and repressive overtones that most homophobia does. It is instead a defense or coping strategy. It is not often publicly expressed like most homophobia. And, in reality, it's not going to help the individual or others.
I suffered from it while I was younger, so that's a self-diagnoses.
These days I am quite angered by this hetero-normative brand of media that will only submit male/female based literacy and imagery in their medium. Needless to say, sofa and bed tv adverts make me feel uncomforted by the highlighting of this hetero ideal.
“IT’S NOT LIKE GAY PEOPLE DON’t NEED BEDS, TOO!!” I scream in my head when they come on.
