I'm 25 and have significant venous leakage, confirmed via a penile doppler done by my urologist. So I'm basically going to need cock rings to maintain an erection for sex.

What size cock ring should I use? I'm a hair under 6 inches in girth.

I bought these flexible rubber ones that come in 3 sizes. 1.25", 1.5", and 2".

I've tried the 1.25" and 1.5" on the base of my shaft. The 1.25" works great and keeps the blood from escaping but it seems really tight. I'm afraid I might damage something if it's cutting off circulation completely.

The 1.5" works okay but nowhere near as good as the 1.5" Doesn't get as hard and doesn't keep the blood in as well.

Am I safe using the 1.25" inch one?

If your venous return is too much to maintain an erection, is there no mileage in trying to increase the arterial inflow using a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, like Viagra or Cialis?

For cock rings, use whatever works & is comfortable for the length of time you need to wear it. If your cock goes cold, numb or blue (or explodes), it's been too tight too long. If in doubt, try getting an adjustable one.

I've tried cialis and levitra. They help a little bit, but not enough to maintain for more than 15 or so seconds before it starts going down.

I'm going to try a cock ring in conjunction with cialis.

What ever type of ring you choose, if it hurts it's too small. I wear a heavy metal ring 24/7 and have worn it for several years except when I'm cycling. As for the fit, measure the circumference around the top of the base of your penis down around the back of your scrotum and divide that number by 3.14. That'll give you a measurement to start with; however, I still had to try a few different sizes before I found a comfortable fit. Good luck!

I don't have the problem with venous leakage but have used cock rings on and off for several years and they can definitely enhance the stiffness and turgidity of the erect penis. When trying just a ring at the base of the shaft, ahead of the testicles, I've found that there's a fine line between tight enough to be effective and too tight/painful. I've had better luck with a larger ring placed behind the scrotum. The pressure being applied in that perineal area seems to be much more effective, something that is easy to gauge by pressing hard on the perineum with the fingers of one hand while working the shaft with your other hand. Of course you have to deal with the hassle of fishing both testicles and then your flaccid shaft through the ring, but with a little practice it turns out not to be that big a deal.

Anyway, an easy way to get exactly the right size is to forget the sex shops' limited options/high prices and just go to an industrial supply house for rubber (neoprene or Buna-n/nitrile) O-rings, which only cost 10 or 20 cents apiece and are available in diameter increments of 1/16 inch. Most major hardware suppliers carry the rubber O-rings and tractor supply stores are another good source. Once you know the exact size that works best you can upgrade to Teflon™ O-rings for a more comfortable fit, due to the inherent slickness of the material which doesn't grab and pull at the skin like rubber. The Teflon™ rings only cost a buck or two apiece but are harder to find, I found mine at Rocket Seals in Denver. For the effect of a wider cock ring, such as the expensive stainless steel versions, I like to gang up two or three of the Teflon™ rings.

Be they rubber or Teflon™, it's a cheap way to get both a tailor fit and optimum effectiveness in your cock rings.

Thanks for the informative post silvertip!

Yah the ones I have are just nitrile o-rings. So I'll just find some place that sells them online and order each size between 1.25" and 2". I think 1.25" is close but a little too tight (hurts a tad bit), so 1 and 5/16 or 3/8 should be perfect.

Once I get all the sizes I'll try around my balls too. I initially tried the 2" around my balls too but it didn't really work at all. I'll try a bunch of different sizes now though.

Should the perfect size o-ring only restrict blood flow out but not in? Despite the 1.25" working perfectly at keeping the blood in I wasn't getting as big as a normal erection so I'm assuming it was cutting off in inflow somewhat too?

I've tried both. But I'm using nitrile rubber rings and I only have 3 sizes at the moment. None of them work well when used over the shaft and behind the balls. 1.5" is too tight and really hurts and 2" doesn't keep the blood in.

The 1.25" rings works very well around the base of my shaft but I think it might be a little too tight and I don't want to cause damage.

Due to my moderate venous leakage I think I need it to be tighter than most guys but that scares me at the same time because I don't want to damage anything.

But I've ordered every size O-ring available between 1.25" and about 2" inches so hopefully I'll find a good fit with one of those.

I was thinking in reading your posts that you were probably wearing at the base of your shaft, based upon the measurements you gave. I am a similar size to you and those 1.25" would hardly fit my shaft. The downside to being big, is you need a really big cock ring.

Since you are new to cock rings, I would always suggest starting with something like a leather strap with snaps, You can get a lot more variation in size, they are easy on, easy off if you get them too tight or want to start with a full erection. There are other brands made of more flexible materials such as the Oxball line of products that would be a good place to start with. Tenga makes some nice silicone less flexible models as well. What you are doing is right, get many size and see how they fit on you. Any questions feel free to PM me.
