So since I beleive it is generational, there must be a dividing line between leaving your bush natural and shaving. Maybe women over 35 years old are inclined to leave it natural and those under 35 tend to shave. The whole subject of changing fashions and changing social mores fascinates me.

Not for me. I really don't get any noticeable re-growth for the first two or three days. Even then it isn't rough and stubbly.

Yeah, I see why shaving may be a good alternative now for some people. I shave and I get stubbles pretty quickly. Waxing does a better job removing the follicles from the root and postponing the stubbles by about 2 to 3 weeks. Even then, since it's new hair, the stubbles aren't rough.
