Today was the first day in two months since returning to michigan that i was able to take a day off. an actual, full day OFF. my phone was off, the t.v. was off, radio off, computer off, ansolute unadulterated day of rest.
this evening i had to go to the post officeto send thank you notes to people. post office at macatawa was just around the corner.
as i went there, i saw a young guy in his 20s, shirt off, blonde hair/blue eyes with a golden retreiver on a leash with a 4 year old little girl and 2 year old little boy, both with snow white blonde hair.
i admired this site of a father with his children and enjoying them.
in seeing this and enjoying it i was conflicted because i thought "that should be ME! That should be ME and those children and that dog should be mine. i should have the wife that loves me that makes this possible.".
while i was happy to see such a nice sight, it made me very sad that i was not the person living that sight.
