in my opinion (which doesnt mean a whole lot) the holidays have become a time of grred and gluttony rather than a time of giving spent with family.
Stores opening at 4a.m.? For what? Fifteen half price computers? And when the store run out of those fifteen, youre out of luck. People waiting on line for days just to get a video game or something else stupid. Its absolutely pointless.
By me, a worker at a Walmart had a heart attack and died ater being trampled to death by rushing crowds to get at a sale. People chanted to push the doors in and even managed to take some off their hinges. Other workers had to hide on top of vending machines to avoid being hurt, and even the officers trying to give the man CPR were stepped on by others running into the store. At that same Walmart, an eight month pregnant woman miscarried her baby because of abusive crowds...
Another woman in Florida was knocked unconcious by a crowd trying to get at a selection of DVD players.
Isn't it time people realized that the holidays arent about gift giving, but about togetherness. How much could someone enjoy their gift if they new a man had to lose his life just to get it...
