Addicted to sweets.

So yes, I want/need to lose weight. I'm hoping that I'll start dropping some now that I'm weaning myself off soda and making some better food choices.

My only real issue currently? My addiction to sweets. Chocolate, candy bars, ice cream, frozen yogurt, cheesecake, cookies, etcetera.

I crave it every single day. It's ridiculous. I want frozen yogurt SO BAD right now. I don't know how to make it stop! Gah. I know I shouldn't eat these things (as often as I do anyway) but I want them all the time.

Just like other bad habits, you have to get your body used to not wanting them. Drink a large glass of water each time these cravings hit you to give your body the "full" sensation. Chew gum to give your body and your mind the chewing sensation. It takes discipline, but really does work

Another beneficial side effect is that water flushes your system of toxins and aids in the reduction of fat absorption.

Keep Going...You can do it

I don't like apples at all unfortunately. The gum and water thing sounds like it might work. Never been much of a gum person but I can try it.

Congrats for cutting down on soda drinks!!! They're by far the worst thing in your list of treats. Candy bars should be the next thing to go. Try switching to a high cocoa content dark chocolate and just eating a little now and again. It's satisfying but not sweet. Frozen yogurt ain't so bad, you can allow yourself one or two of those, especially if they're instead of ice cream.

Like CG said drink tons of water. I drink water literally all day long. Sugar is an addiction like smoking. Its really hard to quit. I'm trying to eliminate sugar myself. Juicing helps. Eating fruit helps. Stay busy and don't be tempted to buy soda..you should put the money in a jar everytime you resist. You'd be surprised how quickly that would add up!
