Bodybuilding Problems and Advice

In recent weeks, I’ve been bombarded with PM’s with respect to a variety of bodybuilding problems. The dilemma is that it is impossible for me to make a proper evaluation in most instances. First and foremost, I am not a physician. Even if I were, the task of giving advice in the absence of a physical exam and history borders on the absurd. In most instances, I can tell you what has worked for me regarding diets, supplements, splits, cardio, etc. However, my primary concern is “to do no harm.” What works for me, may not work for many of you. For those of you who are between 18 and 25 years of age, I would encourage you to read the article on the 13 most common mistakes that teens make with respect to muscle building.
Bodybuilding.com - Alex Stewart - 13 Mistakes By Teens & Solutions For Successful Muscle Gains!
It’s also good reading for those of you over 25 who are interested in staying fit. Having made most of those mistakes throughout my 16 years of bodybuilding, I’ve come to realize that experience is probably the best mentor. It’s taken me years to develop my body….years of: proper diet (which is 30 to 50% of the game);developing a consistent split program;cardio; choosing supplements that work best for me; setting goals and achieving them; and reaching and getting past them. The most frequent question that I’m asked is “How can I achieve a body like yours?” You can't, at least not overnight nor in the short term. If on the other hand, by avoiding the 13 common mistakes, It is possible. Realize that it will take time, patience, and determination, together with not allowing negativity to rule your thoughts when you hit plateaus.

SERIOUS NOT A JOKE.
Is it true that competition judges subtract points off of a competitor if a bodybuilder wears eyewear onstage? This is what a guy (a BB competition judge) on YouTube told me.

He told me that competitors aren't allowed to wear eyeglasses onstage. He told me that it was unattractive. He even told me that blind bodybuilders don't EVEN wear eyeglasses onstage.
I told him that he was an insensitive fuck.
Those guys probably don't get to have their guidance canes or their seeing eye dogs with them.
The blind competitors probably have to crawl or use sonar to get onstage.

From the IFBB rules:

1. Except for a wedding ring, competitors will not wear footwear, glasses, watches, bangles, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, wigs, distracting ornamentation or artificial aids to the figure. Nor will any competitor chew gum or candy while onstage.

Perhaps the best know blind bb is Greg Rando who has been legally blind since he was 15. Doubt if you'll find a competition pic of him with shades. Most often, for the posing sessions, he's lead on-stage by a stagehand.

There are, however, a number of us that have had corrective surgery and others that wear contacts.
