Nice blog entry, I agree with you completely. It is hard to believe things like this go on, but I guess we shouldn't be that surprised, lack of education, intolerance and hate of people who are deemed "social outcasts" still exists in society. It always has.
Something that I noticed and is rarely addressed in the media, is the amount of nasty, negative, racial, homophobic comments that are being made on YouTube. Especially to those doing positive things or have a positve message. Bullying and insults are so rampant and common on so many popular videos and uploads. It is so easy for someone (not only kids) to sit before a computer and throw insults at a stranger. Are the insults made out of jealousy, fustration, lack of self esteem? Most likely, since most bullies show all these characteristics.
It does get better, but should that person being bullied have to wait? As I heard a famous media personality say, Why can't it get better now?
